On the morning of Tuesday, June 25, the PanelPicker interface begins accepting speaking proposals for next year's South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin. panelpicker.sxsw.com/about Pro Tip #1 on the PanelPicker speaker proposal process is as follows. DO NOT enter your speaking proposal on June 25. Or even June 26 or June 27 or June 28. Why not? Because you don't gain any advantage in this very competitive process by entering your speaking proposal early. Instead, please take your time before you hit the "Submit Your Proposal" button on the PanelPicker interface. Make sure you have all the wording on your proposal exactly right. Bounce your proposal off of your friends and colleagues to get their input on what they like (and don't like) about your idea. Proofread and re-proofread and re-re-proofread and re-re-re-proofread to make sure there are no errors. Remember that once you hit the "Submit Your Proposal" button for your idea, you can no longer make edits or changes. Just make sure you finalize / submit your proposal before the final PanelPicker entry deadline of Sunday, July 21. Gain more valuable Pro Tips for the 2025 PanelPicker process by attending a Best Practices / Ask Me Anything (AMA) virtual session at 11:00 am Central Time on Thursday, June 27. https://lnkd.in/gTy_cwnr Or if you live in Austin, then come to a special summer edition of "Tacos & Topics" at 8:00 am Central Time on Thursday, June 27. This "Tacos & Topics" event will likewise cover the most effective strategies for creating a winning PanelPicker proposal. https://lnkd.in/gWFnVabS #sxsw, #sxsw2025, #sxswpanelpicker, #panelpicker, #creativity, #innovation, #speakingproposals, #opportunity, #Austin, #ATX, #publicspeaking, #speaking, Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, #newideas, #trends, #thoughtleadership

Worried about virtual programs? With CoolSpeak, LLC, that’s one thing you’ll NEVER face. I get it. Taking that leap and trying to facilitate virtual programming for students and families, which is also challenging, unwanted, and daunting, can bring its set of anxieties. One of the top concerns I hear? “People are burned out from virtual”. I’ve been there, and it’s not fun, but that really means they’re burned out from the boring virtual presentations. Here’s my commitment to you: With CoolSpeak, we combine the power and impact of our face-to-face presentations with the accessibility and engagement of our virtual events. Pushing the envelope of student engagement is our core principle, and we do it by ✅ Creating a safe space ✅ Ensuring that it is engaging ✅ Allowing their voices to be heard Taking the leap can be daunting, but remember: you’re not just investing in a program but investing in the ability to impact someone’s life. Just ask the 100+ #GEARUPworks professionals who attended our class during the National GEAR UP Academy hosted by the National Council for Community and Education Partnerships (NCCEP). #VirtualProgram #VirtualLearning

Fractional Community Leader | TEDx Speaker, Emcee, Host, Moderator | Champion for Engagement & Human Connection in a Tech-Driven World
Can cancelling be an opportunity for connection? I recently had a fascinating experience that showcased how to handle changes and cancellations gracefully - and it made me want to ask this question to you. The situation: I was in the final approval stages to emcee a unique, community-centric event. Just as the excitement was building, the organizers underwent a shift in direction due to a new partnership, leading to the elimination of all stage programming - my part included. While this could have been a disappointing update, the way they handled the situation was nothing short of exemplary. Instead of a typical email, I received a personal phone call. They not only explained the changes clearly but also extended a gesture that truly touched me: an invitation to attend next year’s event with a complimentary ticket valued at over 1,000 euros. This approach not only showed deep respect for my time but also reinforced their commitment to building a meaningful community. This experience got me thinking: How do we turn potential setbacks into opportunities for strengthening relationships? Have you encountered a situation where you wished things were handled differently? Or perhaps you’ve experienced a similar moment where someone was able to foster a lasting connection, even when plans changed? I’d love to hear your stories in the comments below. #communitybuilding #communityengagement #community

I had the opportunity to host and facilitate a lunch & learn event for my colleagues about how Bluum's professional development sessions go beyond and build upon product demos. I used this report as the background of my research, and this year the theme is on three digital divides: The digital use divide for students (active v. passive use), the digital design divide for teachers (access to time and training), and the digital access divide (using accessibility tools to create inclusion). #BluumEducation #2024NationalEdTechPlan

Had a lot of fun over the weekend at #DevFest! This was my first time attending the event or any meetup/event in Orlando and I can't wait to attend the next one! It was great getting to meet everyone and I really enjoyed the sessions I attended! Kevin Moore had a great talk on Flutter vs Kotlin Multiplatform, even though I only have apps developed with SwiftUI I have been looking into getting one of my apps on the Android devices so this talk helped me answer some questions on which platform to go with! Judith Rohatiner MIS motivated me with her talk on an introduction to Angular CLI. I've always wanted to get better at my CLI skills and her talk not only helped give me some tips but also motivated me to work on improving my workflow today during work! Andy Lech talk was titled "The Secret to Mobile is API Design, App Architecture, and Data Handling" and similar to Judith's talk, working with API's is something I'm working on more and Andy sparked some great conversation on handling data! Javier Carrion talked about a Flutter application he built during a hackathon. His talk was interesting to hear about Flutter and Firebase integration along with what he accomplished during a hackathon. Hearing about his experience and how impactful the hackathons have been gives me the motivation to look into attending one soon!! Michael Rosario gave my favorite talk of the day in a workshop called "Learn how to build and deploy a LangChain app on Cloud Run". I haven't worked with #Gemini yet so it was great seeing how it can be used and given a sample project to poke around with and explore! This conference focused on AI.......no surprise as there seem to be a lot of subjects lately, however, what made this topic different in a good way, was the focus on ethical AI. It was refreshing to have the focus on ways that we can use AI to better impact us and use it as an ethical tool rather than focusing on the fear of AI. Looking forward to attending the next one and going to more meetups!!

Connecting the world to untapped African creative talent I 10K Skilled Jobs Mission | Leading era92 Group of Social Enterprises.
Elevate Booth Makes its Mark in Jinja I always get emotional when I see the era92 elevate Booth (digital classroom) being set up in a new community. I know that countless dreams are about to be unlocked, and so much untapped potential is about to be realized. The lives of many young people are on the brink of transformation. As the Elevate Program continues to expand into new districts, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the progress we’ve made. It’s incredible to witness the impact we’re having by equipping youth with essential tech skills. The vision of creating 10,000 jobs is no longer just a dream—it’s becoming a reality.
