Spent the week at #ces2024 with the Consumer Technology Association 👀 for opportunities to showcase Richmond. Last year we put on 7 tech conferences at Richmond Technology Council - rvatech/. However, we always have room to grow. How can we provide more value? More impact? Be more creative? Create more “wow” moments? I love seeing how the best in the world do it. We may not be able to replicate it all, but we take pieces and parts and apply our own lens and scale and hopefully get a little better each year. Here are 5 quick thoughts for the next conference you attend: 1. Say yes to everything (value comes from just being in the mix) 2. Set up lunches, coffees, and happy hours in advance (leverage the new environment to deepen relationships) 3. Keep dinners open for serendipity (getting invited to unexpected meals yields unexpected connections) 4. Explore the periphery more (it’s not always the main stage that has the main value) 5. Pay attention to the experience, not just the content (sometimes the how is more important than the what)
