Today is Amazon Prime Day and I just had a great interview with News 12 New York. Here’s what I shared… Scarcity is a powerful force, especially when time is limited. Our brains react similarly to time-related scarcity as they do to scarce resources for survival. Initially, the regret of not buying can be stronger than impulse buying, but that changes over time. Here are tips to avoid falling into the scarcity trap: 1️⃣ Understand how scarcity influences us. It's a strong force of influence. 2️⃣ Ask why you're buying – is it FOMO or a genuine need? 3️⃣ Wait 24 hours before buying to think it over. 4️⃣ Remember that FOMO fades. 5️⃣ Research before sales to identify true deals. When Amazon goes wrong for you, relax it's normal, eat a hamburger and chill. You can't change the fact that Amazon doesn't care about your success, that seller support is a joke, and that China is hijacking your listings. You can't prevent Amazon from making things harder, for raising the bar, and for maximizing their fees. You can become a stalwart tho. The problems you face can become your armor. I found a way to ship fragile wine glasses and had a top 40 wine glass for 3 years. Everyone said avoid glass. I chose to solve the problem. Or at least ignore the consequences. I made 424k net profit on wine glasses in 3 years. Eventually wine glasses became out of demand. And I shifted to tumblers. Then Amazon banned my entire tumbler business. So I shifted my strategy yet again. Starting a new account and crossing 8-million dollars in its first year. I will continue to level up no matter what happens. You can too. Every obstacle Amazon has thrown at me has made me stronger. My armor is Netherite. So for Independence Day I ate a hamburger 🍔 and chilled at my pool with the kids in peace.
