Syblon Reid was awarded a contract by the Bureau of Reclamation to perform work on North Fork Screens and Ladders phase of the Battle Creek Salmon and Steelhead Restoration Project near the base of Mt. Lassen. The purpose of the project was to restore habitat for wildlife and anadromous fish while minimizing the loss of clean renewable energy produced by Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s Battle Creek Hydroelectric Project. The North Fork Screens and Ladders (NFSL) project consisted of work being performed at two separate sites simultaneously: the North Battle Creek Feeder Dam (NBCFD) and the Eagle Canyon Diversion Dam (ECDD). Both sites had difficult access and the work involved significant logistics challenges regarding manpower, equipment, and permanent materials due to the remote locations and distances from staging areas. #steelheadrestoration #northbattlecreek #mtlassen #syblonreid

💧 The first pipes have been laid in a new 57km water pipeline, which will support supplies to more than 200,000 people across the North East of England.💧 NWG (Northumbrian Water Group) Project Pipeline: County Durham and the Tees Valley is a huge £155m investment in futureproofing the resilience and quality of water supply to customers. We are constructing Phase 1 of the project which will connect Lartington Water Treatment Works in Upper Teesdale with the town of Gainford and across to Shildon, County Durham. The project will see the replacement of sections of the network that have served the area for more than 100 years, alongside new stretches of pipeline. Pipelaying started from Whorley reservoir and the teams are working in the directions of Lartington and Shildon. A second phase is currently being planned, with work scheduled to start in 2025, further connecting the pipeline on to Teesside at Long Newton. Angus Measurement Services, LP Special Service Group 💪Share Knowledge Good Tuesday morning January 9, 2024 in the old Permian Basin, on the southwest edge of the Llano Estacado, off the east side of the Frankle City Highway, in beautiful, Gaines County, Texas the wind stopped blowing. At least for today. When the fur circus made its business run last night it was still a steady 25 MPH. Some point between then and 5:45 this morning it laid. I live in a pretty well-built house, but the wind still finds ways to get in. Anyone contemplating coming out to this little slice of paradise needs to understand how the wind shapes the scenery and the people. I had a crew working for me in the early 2000's on a project just north of the "Ghost Cemetery" in Winkler County. https://lnkd.in/gQWwaZAD The crew was from Beaumont, and they started the job with the weather and wind in a nice March fashion. Steady 20 with gust to 30 or so from the west. Then we had one of those weeks. The wind started howling from the northwest and the dust started blowing. In the morning it would be a steady 25 then by noon it was 30-35 with gust to 50. A couple of afternoons about break time there would be 70 MPH gust. This went on for a solid 7 days! At night the wind would drop back to a steady 25. You know the wind is blowing when you have to shut down tank work because of the wind. The door sheet was at just the right position where the wind came right in. They tried putting up a tarp a few times but that would not last till the water got hot and the tarps were last seen heading toward FM 1232 and on to Pyote. Later the foreman made a comment to me how where they live the wind during a hurricane could blow harder and higher than what it does here, but after a while back there, it stopped. Seems out here in the Permian, when it gets going, it doesn't. Bloomberg has an article API picked up and dropped in my inbox. Producing, processing and disposal of water in the oilfield is a part of the business. This is something that has to be delt with every hour of every day any place oil is produced. Anyone interested or has a part in production of oil should consider attending the Oilfield Water Management Symposium at Odessa Texas in March. Being able to process and dispose of produced water is essential to continued production. I would highly encourage attending this event. Angus Measurement Services, LP is helping sponsor this event. Everyone have a great, safe day. Be aware of the traffic. There are a lot of dangerous things we do in the "Patch". In driving we only have 50% control of the situation. The other 50% is in the other drivers' hands. Follow the Smith's 5 Keys: Aim high in steering, get the big picture, keep your eyes moving, leave yourself an out, and make sure they see you. Find someone today to make their life a little better. Angus Measurement Services, LP

At Black & Veatch, we will always recommend the #naturepositive 🌲 approach, including avoidance of protected #wetlands. However, underground linear projects such as transmission or sewer lines do not always have the space to go around sensitive areas. Our response? Let’s go under it! Horizontal directional drilling (HDD) is a trench-free method for linear installations. One of its greatest environmental benefits is the ability to pass underneath sensitive areas such as wetlands without causing any ground disturbance; which means it will not be subject to Section 404 permitting. It is one of many #sustinable practices we utilize to solve infrastructure challenges. Let’s talk about the innovative methods that could improve your project 🔊

🏞️ Conquering the Appalachian Challenge! 🏗️ This power distribution system upgrade project took us to the heart of West Virginia's mountains. With new construction, transmission line rebuilding, and hard rock digging, this was no small feat to bring reliable power to area residents and businesses. 💪 We battled steep terrains, worked around active coal mines, and coordinated like pros with the local utility. The remote location and tricky logistics only added to the excitement. 🌟 Here's to a job well done, despite all odds! #AldridgeElectric #AldridgeBuilds #TransmissionLines #GridReliability
