The Moe’s Bar Spawning Habitat Replacement project involved the replacement of spawning gravels in the Feather River below Oroville Dam adjacent to the Feather River Fish Hatchery. The work was performed under a separate construction order as part of the Oroville Dam Spillway Emergency Response Project. The scope of work included: • Repairing culverts over the Hatchery Side Channel. • Transporting and placing 5,000 cubic yards of gravel. • Achieving a gravel bed depth of 1-foot in three areas. • Achieving a gravel bed depth of 2-feet in Moe’s Side Channel, with a rough surface. • Using excavated materials in two gravel replacement areas. #syblonreid #contractorservices #engineeringcontractors #generalengineering #constructionindustry #constructioncrew #folsomca

This land is over to grazing from arable. Perfectly functional fencing, (although improvised stile difficult to use), so fit for purpose for both land-uses? Whilst fully understanding the staffing and wider resources required to coppice, plant, establish and care for a new hedgerow, a low-cost option would be to allow the existing shrubs to grow uncut and plant a small number of irregularly spaced field trees along the boundary. This would provide summer shade for stock, conserve soil and provide for the very long-term 'replacement' for mature field oaks. Given that a Public Right of Way follows one side of the boundary, in my view these (and wider public) benefits outweigh the marginal loss of cultivatable land along the boundary. #hedgerows, #landscape, #farming, #environment

The cost of stump removal in Florida depends on several factors, including the size of the stump, the number of stumps, the stump’s location, and the complexity of the job. On average, stump removal can cost anywhere from $80 to $400 per stump. Smaller stumps typically cost less, ranging from $80 to $150, while larger stumps or those with extensive root systems can increase the price. If you have multiple stumps on your property, you may be able to get a discounted rate for removing several at once, which can help reduce the overall cost. The location of the stump also plays a role in pricing. If the stump is in a difficult-to-reach area or close to structures, it may require more specialized equipment or additional safety precautions, increasing the overall cost. Additionally, if the stump is located near underground utilities, such as pipes or cables, it can also complicate the removal process. At Robert’s Stump Grinding, we pride ourselves on offering competitive rates and high-quality service. We use industry-leading equipment to ensure fast and efficient stump removal while keeping your yard and surrounding areas safe. September 17th: Construction Contract Signed for Galveston Seawall On September 17, 1902, the construction contract for the Galveston Seawall was signed by J. M. O’Rourke and George Steinmetz. This contract marked the official start of the seawall’s construction, which was a crucial step in protecting Galveston from future hurricanes. The initial segment of the seawall was completed on July 29, 1904. This concrete structure was 3.3 miles long, 16 feet wide at its base, and 17 feet high. It proved its worth during subsequent hurricanes, significantly reducing the loss of life and property damage. The Galveston Seawall is a remarkable piece of engineering history! #ThisDayInTexasHistory #TexasHistory #OnThisDay #TexasHeritage #TexasPride #HistoryOfTexas #TexasEvents #HistoricalTexas #TexasEducation #KnowYourHistory #TodayInHistory #TexasPast #HistoricTexas #LearnTexas #TexasTimeline #TexanHeritage #SouthwesternHistory #FamousTexans #TexasMemories #thedaughtreylawfirm #realestatelaw #mineral rights #probate #estateplanning #houstontexas #htown #learningmoment

Tree Stump Removal in Norfolk If you have recently had a tree removed from your land, you are likely to be left with an unsightly tree stump. Tree stumps can be an eyesore - but they can also pose a safety risk and become a trip hazard. Stumps can also get in the way of simple activities such as ground maintenance and make it difficult to use your outside space to its full potential. Tree stumps when recently left can often take many years to decompose - and that’s where tree stump removals come in. Tree stump removal is the process of extracting a tree stump from the ground, eliminating any trace of the tree and its roots that once stood there. This work can be carried out using various methods, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. Learn more at https://lnkd.in/ejdPKeyY #trees #stumps #management #gardens #advice #norfolk
