During a geologic event, a rock dome adjacent to Twain Harte Dam experienced active exfoliation – a form of mechanical weathering – causing damage near the abutment. The repair project scope of work included installing a new 30-inch diameter low level outlet, placing 319 cubic yards of shotcrete on a 40 degree slope, and removing and rebuilding the damaged sections of the dam at the left abutment.

ISCHEBECK TITAN Geotechnics: Soil Nailing - Slope Stabilization
Our micropiles, used alongside high-strength wire meshes, not only provide robust surface security but also ensure your safety. Often, these wire mesh anchors are combined with rockfall fencing, which is also reinforced with micropiles. All exposed steel parts are galvanized to ensure durability and protection against corrosion.
Applications of Slope Stabilization:
- Securing unstable slopes and critical earth slopes
- Implementing measures to protect against rockfall
- Safeguarding structures and infrastructure

Eyes on Pipelines - Trouble on the Rahway, again.
Texas Eastern, this month, filed another project under its blanket authorization certificate to address aging pipe that runs adjacent to and under the Rahway River in New Jersey.
This is the third time the TETCO has been dug up and replaced pipe in this critical geography.
Based on a look at past blanket certificate authorizations I would expect to see more in this area the future.

Sometimes unconventional challenges call for creative solutions! At this UST site, the proposed remediation method was the installation of a horizontal air sparge/SVE pair. Unfortunately, the site geology, and plume geometry required the start of the sparge screen section at 23’ bgs while still within the property boundary. A tiny site and busy roadways prevented the proper set back to achieve the screen start depth. So the consultant and Ellingson-DTD got creative… By strategically placing the rig in the excavation pit, we successfully achieved the start of screen target depth of 23’ bgs at the proper location. Both the sparge and SVE screens started at the property boundary and terminated under a residential neighborhood. #horizontalenvironmental#groundwater#contamination
How quickly can professional landfill capping be carried out? ⏱️
In our new YouTube clip, we have tried to capture the speed and precision involved in laying geomembranes. Not only the equipment, such as the traverse, but also the skilled installation team guarantee proper work and reliable sealing. 💪

🔆 A piston rock splitter is a new type of rock-breaking equipment. An ordinary hydraulic jack inspires its design. A piston rock splitter requires a larger hole diameter than a handheld rock splitter (typically 90mm, 110mm, 130mm, 150mm, 180mm, or over 200mm).
🔆 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸?
Drill a hole of suitable depth and diameter, then insert the piston-splitting rod into the hole and align it to the direction of splitting. The ultra-high pressure of oil output by the hydraulic power unit drives the piston of the splitting road to generate tremendous force, pushing the position outward, and the pressure is instantly super high, reaching more than 100 Mpa. The practical splitting power of up to several thousand tons destroys the structure of the rocks from within.

✔ Rock excavation.
✔ Surface mine excavation
✔ Highway construction and widening
✔ Building foundations
✔ Shaft driving and tunneling

🌟 Unlock the Secrets of Rocks with Sigra's Rock Properties Testing Laboratory! 💡
Explore the fascinating world of geotechnical engineering and geomechanics with Sigra! Our specialised rock properties testing services provide valuable insights into rock strength, density, porosity, and more. The test emphasis at Sigra is on measuring the important rock parameters for a given situation, not simply producing multiple standard test results which are of little or no value.
A number of the tests performed in our Brisbane rock laboratory have been developed by Sigra because there were no suitable tests. These include the Cyclic Uniaxial, Simple Shear, Triaxial Elastic, Hydrostatic and Transverse Tensile tests. Other test processes have been modified to suit the rock type, notably the GOST Shear test which is modified to shear across bedding planes of sedimentary material. Our company can develop other tests to suit needs.
