Northern Gold Coast residents are being told to brace for short-term traffic pain as the council begins a record $100M upgrade of the city’s worst congested roads. The 2024/25 City budget contains a transport funding blitz on roads and infrastructure at Ormeau, Pimpama, Yatala and Jacobs Well. Six congestion hot spots have been identified, showing roads in Gold Coast suburbs operating at 40 or 50 per cent capacity during peak traffic ­periods. They include hot spot transport links include Yawalpah Road, westbound from Swan Road to the M1, for both morning and afternoon peak. Amojelar June 26, 2024 MPTC eyes new expressway in Cavite towns - Manila Standard https://lnkd.in/gvPPzr-j Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. proposed to build a P40-billion expressway that would bridge the gap between Cavite Laguna Expressway (Calax) and the forthcoming Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge (BCIB) project. “We’re in discussion with the provincial government of Cavite on a possible Naic connection to Calax in General Trias,” CIC president and general manager Raul Ignacio said. The Department of Public Works and Highways earlier said the Cavite alignment of the BCIB starts from the shoreline of Barangay Timalan Balsahan in Naic, then traverses through the agricultural and residential area and terminates at Antero Soriano Highway a relative flat terrain in Barangay Timalan Balsahan and Barangay Timalan Concepcion. The government secured $1.14 billion from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) to finance the construction of the BCIB across Manila Bay. Spanning 32.15 kilometers, the project was designed to provide strategic convergence points between Central Luzon and Calabarzon, fostering greater economic growth and improved tourism. The Queensland Government has handed down its 2024-25 State Budget, which has revealed $107.3 billion in funding for the State’s significant infrastructure pipeline over the next four years. Key investment include: ▪️ $5.5 billion for the construction of a new 37.8-kilometre Direct Sunshine Coast Rail Line between Beerwah and Maroochydore. ▪️ $3.026 billion for Stage One of the Coomera Connector, providing an alternative route for the growing communities and commercial hubs of Helensvale and Coomera. ▪️ $1.730 billion for the Rockhampton Ring Road construction ▪️ $1.162 billion for Cooroy to Curra (Section D) construction ▪️ $948 million for upgrades between the Gateway Motorway and Dohles Rocks Road (Stage 1) ▪️ $336 million for a Tiaro bypass to improve flood immunity, safety, and efficiency. ▪️ $1.219 billion for the third stage of the Gold Coast Light Rail, adding eight new stations. ▪️ $5.75 billion committed to the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail upgrade, increasing tracks between Kuraby and Beenleigh from two to four, with modernized rail systems, station upgrades, and level crossing removals. Sydney Metro is the biggest urban rail project in Australian history. Sydney Metro West (SMW) is a 24-kilometer (15 mi) #underground expansion of Sydney Metro that will link the Parramatta and #Sydney central business districts (CBDs) and the communities in between. The completion of the SMW line is part of the Future Transport Strategy’s vision of “30-minute cities,” with a goal of improving public transport networks and services to ensure 30-minute access to key destinations 24/7. SMW is being delivered in three stages: Central Tunnelling Package (CTP); Western Tunnelling Package (WTP); and our scope, Eastern Tunnelling Package (ETP). The first two stages, CTP and WTP, are currently under construction. ETP, which is 3.5 kilometers (2.2 mi) of tunnel, will service growing populations of the western suburbs of Sydney, Australia, from greater Parramatta to Sydney CBD.
