How was my first week at BASSnet, I asked myself? It was an enlightening blend of technical insights and team bonding. (For those curious about the details, here’s a deeper dive.) Day One greeted me with the source code and a comprehensive wiki maintained by my team. It was inspiring, yet daunting. I questioned, “Am I learning too late?” However, the reassuring thought prevailed: it’s never too late to start. Day Two challenged my progress on the probation project. It was a moment of introspection, recalling past triumphs in skill mastery to restore my shaken confidence. Despite initial efforts with layouts, lazy loading, and file structures setup aimed at aligning with the main source code standards, I realized my approach to module locations was flawed, making the day’s efforts seem misdirected. Day Three brought a realization that I had been overly harsh on myself. Rectifying the previous day’s direction proved less time-consuming than feared. This pivot led to significant progress, making the day remarkably productive and effective—a feeling I cherished. Day Four saw the submission of my project and the valuable feedbacks from RK, along with requests for additional features and enhancements. Continuing with RK’s requests on Day Five solidified the week’s learning experience. Overall, adapting to the new environment, culture, and technical standards at BASS, coupled with lunches and conversations with RK, Oksi, Ghafur, Alicia, Adrien, and Elvis, has been enriching. Each member’s unique perspective adds to the collective wisdom I’m eager to tap into further. Looking back at my first week at BASSnet, I’ve learned a lot and met some great people. It wasn’t just about the work; it was also about fitting in with the team and learning from everything around me. I’ve seen that even when things get tough, there’s always a way to make them better. I’m really excited for what’s coming next. I want to do more good work, get to know my teammates better, and become a part of this place. Every day feels like a chance to grow and get a bit better at what I do. Thanks to everyone who made my first week so welcoming. 🙂 Here’s to more learning and growing at BASSnet!

2 year Reachdesk anniversary! 💜 What a fun week… personally hitting 128% towards Q1 target, our amazing team achieving 110%, and getting to celebrate 2 years at Reachdesk 🫶 Q1 taught me: ✨Buying processes are constantly evolving and it’s important to adapt. It’s so easy to get distracted with happy ears and think that a deal will close sooner than it will, miss out on key parts of the process and create huge delays. Patience and resilience are everything here! ✨Selling on value and not price to keep up the ACV will result a much better chance of hitting and overachieving on target. If our job of selling is done correctly, we shouldn’t have to race to the bottom on price ✨Multi-year deals aren’t as scary as they sound. Our prospects are going through lengthy processes to either change providers or get approval on something new internally. After all their hard work, it makes sense for them to aim towards a long term partnership so they don’t have to repeat the process in 9 months time prior to renewal! Here’s to the next 2 years! ☺️

Next on our 'meet the team' 👨💼 series is our 'whiz kid' Lead Technical Engineer Daniel Spurr, who joined Advancis two years ago and is a great asset of ours. Dan is a book 📖 of knowledge in relation to WinGuard and is the backbone of our tech team. Incredibly hard working and always happy to lend a hand to his fellow peers. Here is some more interesting facts and a Lie 🤥 about him. Q. What was your first ever job? 💼 Apprentice Technical Support analyst at iComply Ltd. It was actually Allan who originally hired me there, so I must have done something right if he decided he wanted to hire me again. 😉 Q. Is there one skill you wish you could learn? 👨🎓 I'd like to be multi-lingual, 🗣 I feel that as native English speakers, we don't often feel the need to learn other languages but I think it would be a great thing to do. Maybe I'll get round to it one day. 👏 Q. What’s the best advice you have ever heard? 🤔 "Focus on what you can control, and let go of what you can't" 🙌 I find that this applies to many situations both inside and outside of work and it always helps bring some clarity to big tasks when you focus on the things that can directly affect first. Q. What’s something you plan on doing in the next year that you have never done before? Brewing my own beer. 🍺 I quite like trying new hobbies like this, and I can't deny that I like a pint so this seems like a fitting thing to try. Q. Tell me 2 truths about you and 1 lie: 🤥 1. I currently own 4 Rabbits 2. I enjoy hiking in my spare time 3. I'm currently DIY re-doing my garden Q. What achievement 🏆 are you most proud of: In my personal life - Me and my partner have rescued several rabbits 🐰 from homes who cannot look after them and from animal rescues. It's a great feeling when you can take an abandoned pet in and give them a better life. 🤗 Work 👏 - Progressing to the role of Lead Engineer in Advancis after starting as an apprentice, It's been an interesting journey, I've learned a lot, I'm learning more every day, and I'm looking forward to continuing and progressing with Advancis. Thank you Dan for sharing. 👏 #ourtechguy #ADVUK #meettheteam #proud #talented

I finished my 42nd day of #100DaysOfNoCode Challenge! Today task is to Rest and Reflect on the previous week. I can't say I took a rest but reflected. Below is the reflection part: What I Enjoyed: This week, I really enjoyed diving into the World of Generalists. It’s been fascinating and enlightening to learn more about this broad and versatile field. What I Struggled With: I faced some challenges in finishing tasks from Thursday to Saturday due to a heavy workload and balancing multiple responsibilities as a final-year college student. Additionally, I struggled with time management and keeping up with my system of habits. I’m determined to get back on track and improve in these areas. Where I Want to Focus More: Moving forward, I want to dedicate more time to perfecting my time management skills and enhancing my campaign-building abilities. Developing My Approach: I now have a clearer idea of how to approach and keep up with challenges more effectively. This new perspective will guide me in handling future tasks better. I also see the awesome works by my fellow challengers who I am sailing the ship together N NITHARSHANA FATHIMA | Lindsey Lee 💯| Louise Mutua 🌻 Max H. 100DaysOfNoCode #challenge #campaign

React Developer building a portfolio of React web apps using component-based architecture & Redux and sharing everything I learn along the way. Follow me for posts about the process.
Last year, I took a 100+ hour course, but... I didn't learn anything because: I measured the wrong thing. I was driven by the number of hours Instead of the process + lessons to learn. The result? There was no much result. Here's what I started doing: → Take the course. → Follow step-by-step. → Document the process. → Do again (without the course). BONUS: Create content about the process on LinkedIn Turns out it's easy to upskill + do more when you stop focusing on working long hours and start focusing on getting "meaningful" work done. Happy New Week family ❤️ P.S. How many hours do work a day?

Junior Growth Executive @ Veriff | Growth strategies and performance marketing| DoubleP Consultant | Growth Consultant for SaaS Startups
🚀 KICKING OFF 2024 THE RIGHT WAY JANUARY 2024 WAS A BLAST 👀 Hi guys, as you may know, I started a new job this year. Ever wonder what it's like to start a new chapter in your career? ➡️This post is made for you ! I would like to share with you the 3 main lessons I learned while working closely with Filippo this month. 👥 The biggest news this month? I started working with Filippo at our brand-new office. It's been quite an "eye-opening" experience, and here are the top 3 lessons I've learned from working closely with him. 1️⃣ PHYSICAL PRESENCE TRULY MATTERS 📌 I think that hybrid working as an Intern/Junior is the best solution. In fact, you receive the benefits of both "way of working" (in presence and remote work). ✅️ But by being at the office you can learn twice as fast and you understand a lot of "small tips". When it's the perfect moment to ask a feedback, how to interact with clients, just to mention a few. ✅️ And you have also the opportunity to understand your team better and how they behave And if they are willing to truly support you. 😱 Filippo was great in that. Especially after torturing him with 2 hours straight of questions about payments. 📍 If you're an intern/ junior, be present. 2️⃣ ASKING YOURSELF "WHY" BEFORE DOING ANYTHING 🦬 Since I started working at DoubleP, I tend to charge through tasks like a bull in a china shop. The image below it's a perfect representation of that. 🤔But Filippo showed me the power of reflection. In particular he was great at asking me constantly: "Why you are doing this activity? Why it is important? What are the consequences and impact? Are they relevant?" 🤷🏽♂️ All these questions made me realize that in most cases you don't need to do 5 things. It's enough to do 1-2 things, but doing it in a way that maximizes impact. 📍 Do you want to generate more impact? Do less, but do it at the best of your abilities. 3️⃣ "AND SO WHAT"? 💡 I've had my fair share of 'Aha!' moments with my researches and findings. I was pretty enthusiastic about my results. 🤔 But in most cases, Filippo stared my in the eyes and told me "And so what?" I understood that being able to convey solutions, action steps and going "a step further" in your presentation is key when consulting or selling. ❓️ Presenting data and key insights is part of your job. But it's even more important to explain why you're showing these insights and what your prospects/clients should do with these informations. 📍 Yes charts and graphs are great. But tell me why you're showing them. Aaanndddd..... 🙊 Bonus Lesson: I've learned (the hard way) that while communicating with Filippo "anyway" and "by the way" ("comunque" for all my Italian people) are "no-gos" for me now. More on this in a future post! 🤣 That's all for now! 🙏🏼 If you've had any eye-opening lessons this month, drop them in the comments. I'm super interested to hear about your experiences and learnings!

It's Day 6 of the #14dayslinkedchallenge with Afritutor International I want to share something that stood out for me during church service today. I learned a valuable lesson about the importance of preparation before embarking on any endeavor. It got me thinking about how this lesson can be applied to the upcoming week. 📆 So, let's take a moment to reflect on the week ahead. What are you looking forward to in the coming week? What are your expectations for the coming week? Is there a specific goal you're determined to achieve or a challenge you're ready to conquer? I'd love to hear about your expectations so we can cheer each other on. 🌈 But, as we embark on this new week, let's make it a pact to approach it with enthusiasm, determination, and a spirit of preparation. Take some time to plan, set your intentions, and visualize your success. With the right mindset and a little bit of preparation, we can make this week remarkable. 🎉 I want to wish every one of you a productive and fulfilling week ahead. May you find joy in your work, inspiration in your pursuits, and success in your endeavors. Remember, as a Virtual Assistant, I can help you with IT and administrative tasks, customer support, email and calendar management, and scheduling.
