#ParsecTelesystems "MARS CUCM & AD #Process #Automation " for Cisco Call Manager. VIDEO : https://lnkd.in/dvyBN-qj User creation in AD and assignment of an extension number to that user in CUCM are two separate processes normally handled by two separate teams in an organization. User extension created/changed in CUCM needs to be manually updated in AD. Whenever an employee leaves the organization the user record in AD is disable d/deleted. There is no automated process present to remove that deleted employee’s record from CUCM corporate directory. There is no process to update the user's "Display Name" info in AD into CUCM so that it is displayed in the called party's Cisco IP Phone screen. Manual flow of data between these two platforms gives possibilities of wrong info to be presented to employees accessing corporate directory Parsec’s MARS CUCM Process Automation application provides a solution to above pain points. 💡 Network Engineer Tip: Optimize Network Performance with Quality of Service (QoS) Policies! 🚀📶 Ensure optimal network performance for critical applications by implementing Quality of Service (QoS) policies. QoS allows you to prioritize traffic based on its importance, ensuring that essential services receive sufficient bandwidth and low latency. Follow these steps to deploy QoS effectively: 1. **Identify Critical Applications:** - Determine which applications or services require priority treatment over others (e.g., VoIP, video conferencing, mission-critical applications). 2. **Define Traffic Classes:** - Classify traffic into different classes based on application type, source/destination, or traffic characteristics. 3. **Configure QoS Policies:** - Define QoS policies to assign priorities, bandwidth limits, and queueing mechanisms to each traffic class. # Example QoS configuration on a Cisco router class-map VOIP match ip dscp ef policy-map QOS_POLICY class VOIP priority percent 30 class class-default fair-queue ``` 4. **Apply QoS Policies:** - Apply QoS policies to relevant interfaces or VLANs to enforce traffic prioritization. # Example QoS policy application on a Cisco router interface interface GigabitEthernet0/1 service-policy output QOS_POLICY ``` #QoS #NetworkPerformance #TrafficPrioritization #TechTips #Networking #LORSIVTechnologies By implementing QoS policies, network engineers can ensure that critical applications receive the necessary resources to function optimally, improving user experience and productivity. Cisco's Unified Communications if you haven't read the memo yet, Cisco issued a bulletin a few days ago about a vulnerability in the products listed below. It has a severity of 9.9 and allows RCE and potential root access. Apply patches immediately. If cannot apply said patches right now, one is advised to implement ACL compensating controls on next hop systems (it minimizes the risk). - Unified Communications Manager (Unified CM) (CSCwd64245) - Unified Communications Manager IM & Presence Service (Unified CM IM&P) (CSCwd64276) - Unified Communications Manager Session Management Edition (Unified CM SME) (CSCwd64245) - Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX) (CSCwe18773) - Unity Connection (CSCwd64292) - Virtualized Voice Browser (VVB) (CSCwe18840) #gefura_update #gefura

Where are all the VOIP engineers??? Having a new VOIP Engineer role to work on I've noticed there seems to be a shortage of qualified VOIP engineers. On Friday I did my usual outreach steps expecting a fair amount of replies when I got to work on Monday - but instead, I was met with surprisingly low responses which has left me scratching my head and wondering what's changed Why is it so difficult to find them? Here are a few possible reasons I picked up on yesterday after speaking to candidates: Rapid Tech Changes: VOIP technology is constantly evolving, requiring engineers to continuously update their skills. This pace may be creating a gap between industry needs and available talent. Demand V's Supply: As more businesses transitioned to VOIP systems, the demand for engineers surged. However, the number of qualified professionals hasn’t kept pace. Business changes: It's no surprise that the way in which businesses communicate has changed. With more companies opting for mobile solutions over VOIP systems, could it be that VOIP is becoming outdated in place of mobile solutions? This could lead to fewer people training in this area and if they have been in this role moving away from the tech. I’m curious to hear your thoughts. What does the future of VOIP engineering look like in a world dominated by mobile technology? #VOIP #Unifiedcomms #telecomsjobs
