It's incredible how swiftly Pharmapack Europe 2024 passed when you spent two intensive days absorbing insights from prolific industry experts! 3 key takeaways : 1. The Trend of more pharma developing and adopting platform technologies for drug delivery was evidenced by foot traffic and conversations. Smaller, less-well capitalized firms on the drug delivery side are surviving challenging times. 2. Cautious optimism about the drug delivery market and market conditions will improve as the year progresses. The US is still the market to be in for marketed combination products—and there are signs the EU market will improve as well. 3. The need for a digital solution is evolving—both for Big Pharma and for the Drug Delivery System providers. Big Pharma has narrowed and re-prioritized what they are looking for—and simple connected “point-solution” drug delivery systems are not at the top of their list. Increasingly Drug Delivery System Providers are either partnering with best of breed digital health providers (i.e. Ypsomed AG with Sidekick Health and S3 Connected Health) or creating a really simplified and easily integrated solution (i.e. SHL Medical and the Molly® Connected Cap). More time for #patientoriented research with #realworlddata! There are #innovations and there are #innovators who drive progress. Often against resistance, but also hand in hand with what is. Two companies that have been doing this for a long time and have also ventured into new territory during the pandemic, have put their heads together again. DocMorris and DontBePatient Intelligence (DBPi) are taking the path of innovators and come from very different sides of the pharmaceutical supply chain. One from research and development, the other from patient care and pharmaceutical excellence. We have one thing in common: everything that is available in the pharmacy goes through clinical research, an immense amount of time, financial resources and, above all, reliable and well-founded findings from the reality of care.
