🥳 On January 1, 2025, we launched the research project INOVO!!!, which aims to improve the quality of the environment in the Ostrava Metropolitan Area through innovative technologies. The historically industrial region has long struggled with high levels of air pollution and wastewater production, which negatively affects the quality of life of its inhabitants. The INOVO!!! project focuses on the development and implementation of new technologies that will lead to a significant reduction in pollution and promote sustainable development. 🤝 The project brings together research institutions and application partners such as Dekonta, a.s., Ostravská univerzita, Nano4people s.r.o., Ranido, BENEKOVterm, Veolia, RPG Recycling, s.r.o. and MSIC - Moravskoslezské inovační centrum. Together we focus on three key areas: ⛅ Technologies for cleaner air - Development of advanced methods for removal of gaseous and solid pollutants from combustion and industrial processes, including catalytic methods for VOC and NOx reduction and carbon dioxide capture. 💦 Cleaner Water Technologies - Combination of biological, physical and chemical methods for effective removal of persistent micropollutants from wastewater and surface water, including photocatalytic degradation of microplastics. 👍 Socio-economic and geographical aspects of innovation uptake - Analysis of factors influencing the adoption and implementation of new technologies in the region and support for a regional innovation ecosystem. Expected results of the project include upgrading of research facilities, implementation of 25 applied results, publication of 20 scientific articles and filing of patent applications. The INOVO!!! project represents a key step towards improving the quality of life of Ostrava's residents and strengthening the region's competitiveness through sustainable technological solutions. 🛫 CIRCULess project is travelling to Bilbao, for its M6 General Assembly, hosted by our partner TECNALIA Research & Innovation!! CIRCULess project is greatly aligned with the goals of #Processes4Planet and A.SPIRE, as it is fostering circularity in the construction and manufacturing process industries, by minimizing Construction and Demolition waste (C&DW) as well as Manufacturing waste (MW), with focus on #mineral and #timber-based material streams. This is being approached by developing new processes for #circularity of secondary materials from wastes/residues for all industrial processes, without compromising #quality and #performance as well as sustainable-by-design circular products!
