We often celebrate this intriguing red alga for its role in environmental sustainability, but the truth is that it has a wealth of diverse nutritional properties that could extend far beyond the reduction of #methane emissions in cattle. In this blog post, we'll dive deeper into the multifaceted nature of A. taxiformis. We'll explore its various properties and applications, shedding light on its potential to revolutionize the worlds of animal agriculture and human nutrition. From antioxidants to amino acids, join us as we explore the wonders of what this multifaceted #seaweed has to offer. Red seaweed species typically boast a rich amino acid profile and usually have high concentrations of leucine, valine, threonine, alanine, arginine, serine and glycine. So what are these amino acids actually good for? 🏃♂️ Leucine is essential in protein synthesis and is helpful in tissue regeneration and metabolism. ⚡ Valine is a great source of energy and protects against organ failure. 🏥 Threonine is important in nutritional metabolism, maintaining gut health, and cell growth. NSP Enzymes - Mode of Actions NSP Enzymes may act by one or more of the following modes in Poultry and Monogastric Species, Decaging: Degrading insoluble arabinoxylans in the cell walls and thereby releasing entrapped nutrients for digestion and absorption. Viscosity: Reducing viscosity by depolymerizing soluble arabinoxylans and so improving nutrient mobility and absorption. Prebiotic: Production of xylan oligosaccharides (XOS) that may function as prebiotics for beneficial microorganisms and so improving gut functionality and performance. Signaling: Production of xylan oligosaccharides that may act as signaling molecules to stimulate the microbiome to become more active in their attack on dietary fiber. #MoreOutOfLess #Sustainablefarming #DSMFeedEnzymes #WeBringProgressToLife #dsmfirmenich #ShapeTheFuture

Plant polyphenols boost muscle mitochondria, increase thermogenic beige fat, and stimulate the gut's own natural GLP-1. The microbiome helps coordinate. Sharing the latest from GutBitesMD. Short Summary: Polyphenols have played second fiddle to fiber, but are an equally important class of bioactives in plants that have been largely removed from food by ultra-processing. The first guideline was only just recently created for a polyphenol in 2022. With a plethora of research ongoing like that being coordinated by Rockefeller Institute's Periodic Table of food, we will see increasing interest, food fortification, and food labeling around these important and colorful plant compounds. #microbiome, #monjaro, #ozempic, #wegovy, #microbiome, #glp-1, #fiber, #polyphenols, #phyotochemical, #incretin #nutrition #foodasmedicine #food

Ultra-processed food isn't just bad for your health—it messes with your mind https://lnkd.in/gTvU_Xwj It’s been estimated that we lose at least 13 years by eating a typical U.S. diet. https://lnkd.in/g5FJx2Kh Benefits of a plant-based diet: What happens to your body when you stop eating meat? Mitochondria are the body’s power plants, fuelling our cells. New research shows they play a role in many aspects of keeping us healthy – and could be the key to unlocking treatments for chronic diseases, including Parkinson’s https://lnkd.in/gKPPJMyZ Mitochondria, tiny tube-shaped structures that are found in their hundreds, sometimes thousands, in nearly all of our cells, are best known as the body’s power plants, continuously converting the food we eat into ATP, a complex chemical that acts as a form of energy currency for cells. Without ATP, every one of our cells, from the brain to the muscles, would lack the fuel they need to keep churning away, and our organs would swiftly grind to a halt.

The power of #sunflower as highly digestible #protein: Why is #proteindigestibility important? Because digestible protein is available to a #dog, #cat or #horse for muscle protein synthesis, as an energy source, or as a substrate for gut microbiota. Proteins that are slow or even resistant to digestion form a potential loss or can become even toxic for the animal. We wanted to understand how digestible our #sunflowerprotein LivaltaSun P46 is and compared it to a standard soybean meal. The short answer is #highlydigestible. For the long answer, have a look at our blog by Hagen Schulze Katarzyna Świrkowicz https://lnkd.in/gAw7q_ps

We believed that creating a protein concentrate with proprietary fermentation would improve immune response and also increase energy through greater nutrient utilization. The typical pH of the gut of the shrimp is the same as the pond and is the ideal pH for Vibrio and pathogens. An effective approach to improve control and resistance is to lower the pH in the gut and provide other nutritive substances that stimulate good gut microbiome immune response and energy. This approach is better than just adding more additives like organic acid because part of our solution has the same nutritive substances bound to the protein structure - so Motiv ensures that the intended nutritive advantages are actually being delivered to the shrimp.
