Honoring the Pioneers of Social Justice Remembering those who paved the way for social justice and honoring those fighting against injustice in our era is an act of justice itself. Because in remembering and honoring, there are lessons for improving practices. This remembrance is crucial for all social workers, especially for international associations, schools, and the Federation of Social Work. In this post, I honor all social workers in non-democratic countries. 🥇 You are examples even for democratic lands and practitioners who may be ignoring injustice within democratic settings.

As we navigate the complexities of social justice, it becomes necessary to bridge gaps between communities, fostering understanding and unity. This #WorldDayofSocialJustice is a reminder to build alliances that break down barriers and amplify the voices of the marginalized.

Everyone has the right to be treated with dignity and respect, no matter who they are or where they come from. In 2015, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in a groundbreaking research project called "Who Pays? The True Cost of Incarceration on Families." This experience ultimately led me to become a panelist in Washington, D.C. The report highlighted key recommendations, including the need for restructuring and reinvesting, removing barriers, and restoring opportunities. These recommendations have since been implemented in various ways across the country. As I stood outside the Cannon House Office Building, I gained a deeper understanding of the importance of process and purpose in both individual and collective journeys. Now, my focus is on assisting others in "Turning the Curve," promoting fatherhood engagement, and paving the way for redemption. #CriminalJustice #FamilyImpact https://lnkd.in/eT4Ft7BZ

We recently had our Strategy 2023-26 Launch in Derry, with our vision being 'a fair and equitable society for everyone'. This strategy highlights six Priority Initiatives that we aim to address.
