Does this sound like you? You are a compassionate, creative and curious health professional who tends to attract the more “complex” cases. Across your client load, you are starting to see more people presenting with, or you’re feeling curious about: Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome/Orthostatic Intolerance (POTS/OI) Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome/Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (hEDS/HSD) Long Covid Fibromyalgia Other conditions of persistent fatigue and pain You know deep down that you have the skills to help these people, but there was so much that wasn’t covered at university. You’ve tried to look up best practice clinical guidelines and found that they either didn’t work for the patient you had in mind, or were completely non-existent. Connection Medicine Co has the CPD solution for you. On September 7th & 8th, you'll find us running our flagship course: Chronic, Invisible Illnesses for Health Professionals. We'd love to see you there: https://lnkd.in/ggcuYD4X

Hospitalist / Internist, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Award Winning Author, Motivational Speaker Passionate about brain cancer awareness, patient advocacy, and narrative medicine
Thank you Pulse--voices from the heart of medicine for publishing my piece. The prompt was “on being different,” which immediately made me want to write about how much I feel we are all fundamentally similar. My Shared Experience: A diagnosis, a difficult (perhaps unwanted) gift. A gift that helped me find more joy, more compassion, and more opportunity to connect with patients. After all, we are all people facing challenges trying to find hope, strength, and courage despite them. We all feel different, which is what makes us the same. In medicine, this constant reminder keeps me humble and aware. Read the full article at https://lnkd.in/gJh9CrPr #hospitalmedicine #internalmedicine #compassioninmedicine #braincancerawareness

Director of Family Medicine, Director of the Center for Obesity Medicine| Healthcare Executive | Advisory board member
Today, I engaged in a meaningful discussion with a prominent group of family medicine specialists on the Cardio-Renal-Metabolic syndrome and the importance of a patient-centric approach. It was eye-opening to discover a lower-than-expected familiarity with the American Heart Association's Cardio-Renal-Metabolic syndrome staging system among these specialists. Empowering primary care providers, especially family medicine specialists, plays a pivotal role in shaping the future landscape of CRM medicine. #FamilyMedicine #PrimaryCare #HealthcareLeadership #CardioRenalMetabolic
