Saying no to a bad idea is easy. Saying no to good opportunities where you know you can add value – That’s infinitely more difficult. Do you know the hidden cost of yes? It is all about what you allow to take up mindshare in your head and minutes in your calendar. Anyone fighting this would be well served to read this piece from Shane Parrish: https://hubs.li/Q02NpM5P0 #hiddencostofyes #prioritizationinbusiness #strategy

Once you know the difference, you need to close the gap. 🤏 → Execution without a strategy is like going with the flow, and hoping for the best. → Strategy without execution is just ... stupid. The action is the only reason you did the strategy in the first place. So, let's go for strategic action. Walk the talk. 🚶♀️🚶♀️ #Strategy #MarketingStrategy #BusinessStrategy

There is *no* world where strategy should be 10%. Maybe – just maybe – that's why whatever you're doing fails. Especially in a bleeding boardroom. #marketingstrategy #brandstrategy #strategy

Think about this: your team just unveiled a brilliant strategy. The vision is bold, the goals are clear, and everyone seems ready to take on the challenge. It feels like the start of something BIG! But as weeks go by, the excitement wanes, and the results aren’t lining up with expectations. What happened? The issue isn't the strategy itself; it's in the execution. While strategy development is about knowing what to do, execution is all about actually doing it. And the gap between knowing and doing is often wide. Getting everyone on the same page, moving in sync, and focused on the most impactful actions is no small feat. Even in the best-run organizations, people can lose alignment, spread their focus too thin, or end up working against each other’s efforts. The real challenge in strategy execution isn’t just about having a great plan—it's about navigating the complexities of human behavior to make that plan a reality. #business #strategy

If I got paid every time someone mentioned "strategy" in a meeting, I'd be able to retire before the end of the meeting Strategy is a word that's thrown around like confetti in the professional world People have trivialised it, taking away its strategic value and rendering it tactical in nature And that's the problem; people confuse strategy with tactics. They definitely are not interchangeable #strategy #tactics #corporate

A strategist is skilled in planning, coordination, and executions to achieve specific goals or objectives. A strategist analyses situations, anticipates challenges ahead, and devises well-thought-out plans to navigate complexities and attain desired outcomes. A strategist is a thinker who doesn’t play around with emotions, but faces the consequences of their decisions because once a decision is made, a destiny is fixed. 2moI like this post, I struggled with this for years, always being so proud of being able to “git er done” but not realizing the problem of doing bad work on a lot of things instead of saying no so I could do good work on a “few” things. Along with this, as a business owner that got paid for his time, I added “don’t do Free” as well!!
