Are you suspecting that you might have Acne Keloidalis Nuchae (AKN)? It can be challenging to identify, as it is often misdiagnosed as acne, keloids, barber’s rash, or even razor bumps on the back of the head. 🤔 If you believe you have AKN and are struggling to find help, you may qualify for assistance from HPF. Early diagnosis and treatment planning can prevent the condition from worsening. Please fill out our patient form below if you need our help. https://lnkd.in/gAR49FH2 Read more about AKN: https://lnkd.in/gTM3-K6P" While we at HPF are here to assist, it’s important to note that our services are primarily for severe cases where patients have been unable to find help elsewhere. 🔍💡 #AKN #ScalpCare #Dermatology #HairPeaceFoundation #NonProfit

The Platinum Seal of Transparency is the highest recognition a non-profit organization can earn. At the DF, we continue to strive to make a difference by supporting rising young investigators and advancing science. This accomplishment would not be possible without the tremendous support of our members, supporters, and volunteers. Health care in LMICS. Medical care is fundamental human right.
Making orthopeadic care accessible to all in Africa. Health care is a human right and each & everyone of us is fully entitled to quality healthcare when they need it regardless of their location or socioeconomic status.
This is Mafeteng Hospital, in the south of Lesotho. This is a region characterised by the highest violenence in Lesotho. This hospital had no capacity for orthopeadic surgeries because it did not have a consultant. Last year the ministry appointed a consultant but he had absolutely no implants. We stepped in and provided equipment and implants at no cost to increase access and equity to much needed orthopeadic surgeries. Thus far, we have donated and impacted over 50 patients. Healthcare is a human right and everybody must have access to safe and timely surgery when they need it. #GlobalSurgery #HealthEquity #LMIC #Orthopeadics

🔬 CLEFT-Funded Research: Exploring Long-Term Effects of Vomerine Flap Surgery 🔬 At CLEFT, our mission is to bridge gaps in cleft care, improving lives both in the UK and internationally. A vital part of this work is sponsoring ground-breaking research with the potential to change treatment outcomes for those born with cleft lip and/or palate. That’s why we’re funding a study in collaboration with the North Thames Cleft Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital and St. Andrew’s Centre, Broomfield Hospital. This study focuses on a controversial surgical technique, the vomerine flap closure, used during lip repair. The aim? To assess the long-term impact of this technique on: • Facial appearance, including upper jaw growth and dental arch alignment • Speech and hearing outcomes • Psychosocial well-being of patients This research could lead to improved, less invasive surgical approaches and make a significant difference to the care of patients, particularly in low-resource settings. We’re committed to improving cleft care worldwide, and projects like this bring us closer to that goal. Stay tuned for updates on this important work! 🗣️👶 💙 If you’d like to support important research like this, please consider donating to the CLEFT Research Fund. Every contribution helps us make a difference. “Her face is PERFECT…” 😍😍😍 That’s what everyone would say when they met our sweet Arienne with the rare blistering skin condition. It was a kind compliment, but it was also a sign of disbelief about what we were saying about her skin. No one could understand that a face that looks like this could be connected to a very severe and often debilitating skin condition. Did you know that you have loads of different types of Keratin in your body? 🧐 Arienne’s Keratin 10 gene is affected by a variant that causes her Epidermolytic Ichthyosis. She has almost zero Keratin 10 in the skin on her face, and this is why she looks like this. But other parts of her body have LOTS of Keratin 10 in the skin. So, no matter what her face looks like, the skin that is always covered by her special clothes looks a lot different. She might look happy as can be, but under her clothes there might be blisters and cracks and sore skin that no one can see. Just because you can’t see it, doesn’t mean it’s not there… ❤️🩹 Please donate to fund research to find a cure: https://lnkd.in/enJ3EXAW Thank you 🥰 #eicureproject #hopeforei #RareDERM #ichthyosis #GeneEditing #findacure #BaseEditing #dermatology #swissassociation #ukcharity #american501c3 #canadiannotforprofit

A living donor lobar lung transplant is a type of lung transplantation where a lobe or part of a lung is donated by a living donor, usually a family member. This procedure is typically used when a suitable deceased donor organ is not available or when the recipient's condition is critical and cannot wait for a deceased donor transplant. The donor undergoes surgery to donate a lobe, which is then transplanted into the recipient, providing them with a functioning lung or part of a lung. This approach can significantly expand the pool of available organs and reduce waiting times for transplant candidates. Transplant Counsellor ensures top treatment/support for lung transplants. Partnering with leading hospitals, we offer various transplants with expert guidance, easing challenges.
