We would also encourage: (1) if you are moving wealth managers due to performance concerns, then with your new investment manger be sure to choose the right balance of assets that matches your objectives (incl. cash needs over next 5 years); (2) be clear that if you spread your investments too thinly (other than via passive market or thematic index investing) then above a certain point this can be unproductive; (3) ask for performance benchmarks relating to asset class indexes (e.g. for public equities, the MSCI World), rather than simply industry peers.
