if anyone is curious how a model like this is deployed (>200 MB payload, >60s processing times) asynchronously on serverless architecture, I wrote a quick blog post about it: https://lnkd.in/deVgmGt4.
We recently compared four cell counting methods. The results are surprising. Our study evaluated techniques ranging from manual counting to advanced AI across 6 large brightfield microscopy images. We assessed processing times spanning from 18 to 618 seconds per image. The findings reveal significant differences in accuracy, with F1-scores varying from 44-93+% between methods. Curious which method achieved a 93%+ F1-score? Dive into our full paper for the complete analysis.

Is 2024 the year that technology will start to 'read our minds'? Is freedom of thought more important than freedom of expression? Emerging brain imaging technology and AI could have the potential to probe people's innermost thoughts, providing opportunities to improve lives but also raising questions about our right to think freely. In their Future Signals collection, Nesta explores how this emerging trend could shape our year ahead.
