🧠 MAGNESIUM || Role in boosting brain health Magnesium is particularly well-known for its key role in musculoskeletal health, with magnesium supplementation found to improve bone mineral density, reduce muscle soreness, and support muscle cramps. In addition to magnesium’s existing wide range of benefits, emerging evidence suggests a neuroprotective role of magnesium in neurological and cognitive function. Results from a large 2023 study found that: 🔬 Magnesium may preserve cognitive function and reduce dementia risk. 🔬 Higher dietary magnesium intake was strongly associated with larger brain volumes and lower white matter lesions (WML). 🔬 Magnesium intake of ≥ 550 mg/day is predicted to result in approximately 0.20% larger grey matter, and 0.46% larger right hippocampus compared to an intake of around 350mg/day. 🔬 These effects were more evident in women than men. Interestingly, individuals who had a higher intake of magnesium at the start of the study compared to the end, were still found to be associated with larger brain volumes than individuals who started with a lower magnesium intake and increased this over time. This suggests that underlying neuropathological mechanisms develop over long periods, and long-term exposure to dietary magnesium, over years or decades, may have the greatest impact in brain ageing. 👉 Read the full article to learn more about how to improve your brain health: https://brnw.ch/21wHKvV #Magnesium #CognitiveHealth #CognitiveFunction #BrainHealth #MuscleHealth #ComplementaryMedicine #EvidenceBased

Integrating Herbs for Neuroplasticity into Clinical Practice "Also known as ‘neural plasticity’ or ‘brain plasticity,’ neuroplasticity refers to the adaptive and functional changes that occur within the brain and peripheral nervous system, both throughout the course of life and in response to various stimuli. Such stimuli include learning, repetitive tasks, the natural aging process and injury." Wholistic Matters reviews mechanisms of neuroplasticity and factors that influence it. For example, neuroinflammation prevents brain plasticity. "Many botanicals, foods, and medications that play a role in the management of anxiety and depression are being explored for their ability to mitigate neuroinflammatory processes that lead to neuronal damage and signaling dysfunction. These botanicals, many of which are categorized as ‘nootropic’ herbs, have long been used in traditional systems of medicine to support learning, memory, and mood." The post focuses on Boswellia, Tumeric, gota-kola, and Bupleurum. I love using a combo of herbs and essential oils to boost brain power and assist with memory and mood. Essential oils also support brain health through various mechanisms and help to attenuate neuroinflammation through various pathways. Longevity medicine is the future, friends! And at Next Level, it is our mission to provide quality in your years, not just quantity. 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 Epithalon is peptide composed of 4 amino acids. It is a synthetic version of the naturally occurring peptide, epithalamin, found in the pineal gland, which is a small gland in the brain that regulates various biological processes, including sleep and circadian rhythms. What is Epithalon? Researchers initially discovered it in the 1980s when studying the effects of the pineal gland on aging. It has been found to influence the production of telomerase, an enzyme that helps maintain the length of telomeres. Telomeres are protective caps at the ends of chromosomes, and as cells divide, these caps shorten. When they become too short, cells can no longer divide, leading to aging and, eventually, cell death Benefits of Epithalon 1. Telomere Lengthening: One of the most significant benefits of Epithalon is its potential to extend the length of telomeres. By activating telomerase, it may help cells to maintain their ability to divide, which is crucial for tissue repair and regeneration. 2. Anti-Aging Effects: Research suggests that Epithalon may have various anti-aging effects, including improving skin elasticity, reducing wrinkles, and enhancing overall vitality. 3. Immune System Support: Some studies indicate that Epithalon can enhance the immune response. A stronger immune system can help the body fend off infections and diseases, contributing to a healthier lifespan. 4. Improved Sleep: Since Epithalon is linked to the pineal gland, it may help regulate sleep patterns, leading to better overall health and well-being. 5. Potential Cognitive Benefits: Some preliminary studies suggest that Epithalon may support cognitive function, potentially reducing the risk of age-related cognitive decline. Research Studies While more research is needed, some studies have explored the effects of Epithalon on aging. Here are links to a couple of research articles: 1. The ileo-Caecal, a silent guardian located where the small intestine and the large intestine meet, is like a border post between two distinct countries within our digestive system. It regulates the flow of digestion, ensuring that things move forward correctly. But who directs this meticulous valve? This is where the brain enters the scene - more precisely, one of its hemispheres. It is fascinating to think of this dynamic: a brain hemisphere, known for orchestrating complex tasks such as speech or problem solving, also takes the time to manage a valve in our intestines. This management highlights the impressive extent of our central nervous system and its influence on the functions of the body, sometimes unexpected. Studies in neurogastroenterology show that the enteric nervous system can be influenced by the signs of the central brain, which could explain the coordination between a cerebral hemisphere and the ileo-caecal valve. For example, stress or anxiety can affect the functioning of this valve, demonstrating a connection between the mind and the digestive. For those who are interested in research, you can consult an article which addresses the complex relationship between the brain and the digestive system: https://lnkd.in/eruTR5ZN I invite everyone to share their reflections. Have you ever felt that your state of mind affected your digestion? Do you think that understanding these connections can change our approach to digestive health?
