The EU AI Act is likely to change the AI landscape significantly. Whilst the regulation may been seen as a barrier to innovation by some, there is hope that in the mid- to long-term, the European law will result in more quality, accountability and ultimately trust in AI applications.
It will sure be a challenging journey to interpret the European law-makers requirements and link them to meaningful actions. I am hoping for a close and open exchange with notified bodies and companies who are on a similar journey.

On march 13, the EU Parlament approved the EU AI Act that will ensure safety and compliance with fundamental rights, while boosting innovation.
This is a major step for ensuring a responsible future of AI – based on human values and trust. The act should not be seen as a blocker to innovation, but by creating clarity on what is needed to implement and use AI, it will allow companies and institutions to know where to put there efforts.
Now companies face many open practical questions. How to classify AI solutions into the four risk levels? How to implement compliance for both existing and new AI solutions?
