At The Heart of Health, we tell the fractured, resilient, uniquely human stories of health. What does it mean to create stories powered by empathy and delivered with heart for EVP, Central Strategy Lead Carolyn Stephenson? "Having witnessed the profound effects of health challenges within my own family—from glioblastoma to infertility, and more—I understand the deep, often unspoken needs that resonate within healthcare narratives. My approach at Syneos Health Communications is not just about crafting messages; it's about forging connections that transcend mere communication. By integrating behavioral science and insights with my expertise in strategy and branding, I strive to create stories that don't just speak to people, but also speak for them." #StorieswithHeart #HeartofHealth #Healthcare

As we age, our priorities shift to wholistic wellbeing for our immediate family, including parents and grandparents. As a daughter and granddaughter, making sure my elders are taken care of in the comfort of their home is important. In my Hispanic culture, we take care of our elders by allowing them to be as independent as possible. Best Buy is leading the way with mixing technology and healthcare for peace of mind. A few years back Best Buy stepped into the healthcare space asking how can we help people? It all starts with understanding what social care is. Before watching this short video, I wasn't sure what social care was. In a nutshell, it's about having accessible health services, access to a healthy meals, transportation, having a village, etc. to name a few. Our Geek Squad agents are able to set up technology solutions for individuals to have a tele visit from the comfort of their home. With devices such as lively, individuals can press a button and have immediate connection to a live person. Being proactive with healthcare not only helps individuals to stay healthier, it reduces costs for individuals and health companies. Excited what the future holds for healthcare as technology continues to evolve. Great short video to watch on how Best Buy is reframing what healthcare looks like with the right technology solutions. #thisisBestBuy #BestBuyHealth #GeekSquad #healthyliving #socialcare #healthcare

Building interprofessional teams with ease | Bridging science to practice | Team development strategies | Patient Advocate | Let's build high performing teams together!
I cannot argue with this quote. Last week, I listened to a presentation from Patrick Dicken. On a slide he presented this information. As I read the slide, I had no choice but to pause. As a patient advocate, this quote is powerful. As a provider, I know there are probably different perspectives. Has a patient/client said similar words to you? What was your response? What if a patient/client said these words to you? What would be your response? In a patient-centered interprofessional team-based approach, we empower the patient to lead their health team. Informed decision making is a component of the process. 1️⃣ Listen to your patient/client. 2️⃣ Be willing to engage in a conversation. 3️⃣ Refer the patient for a second opinion if needed. What else am I missing? Comment below so we can continue to learn from one another. Let's Collaborate for Health!

Health care is not one size fits all! Being treated unfairly or with bias can make people not want to go to the doctor or take their medicine. At the COPD Foundation, we believe that everyone deserves quality healthcare, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, age, who they love, or how much money they have. We’ve created a presentation to help health care providers connect with patients, understand what makes them special, and build trust and respect. Share it with your doctor or health care provider, and ask these questions: Are there any resources available that respect and align with my cultural or personal values? How can we improve our communication and ensure that all of my needs are addressed? What can I do to help you better understand my perspective? Download it here: https://lnkd.in/gcNitm4r

This article seeks to offer an example of the client service role a health communication team can play to combine theory, empirical message development, and community goals in whole community efforts. The article covers the complexities of seven years implementing a theory-informed health communication structure for a multifaceted, place-based cancer prevention initiative with theoretical, policy, and and practice implications to help guide future community-based efforts.

Helping health companies build trust by sharing the science behind their product in an accurate and engaging way
2 years ago, I stopped hopping from one doctor to the next. In my 20s, I went from one doctor to another, getting vague advice and more health problems. And no… - It wasn't because I didn't take my health seriously. - It wasn't a lack of resources or access to healthcare. - It wasn't because I wasn't trying hard enough to get better. It was because the healthcare system was unable to provide me with the concrete, actionable advice I needed to get better. In fact, since I stopped relying solely on the advice for my health that was given to me: - I’ve educated myself through extensive research. - I’ve found the right doctors in functional medicine. - I found a diet that works for me and became medication-free. - I started Scicomwiz, my science comms agency, spreading science-backed health information. So, call it a life pivot if you will. Today, the idea of solely following medical advice is a thing of the past. Through Scicomwiz, I collaborate with well-known functional medicine experts and cutting-edge healthcare brands to share trustworthy health information that can help people. A full-circle moment. PS: If you’re a health brand in need of extra support with your science communication and content strategy, send me a DM and let’s chat.
