Do Sales Progressors Actually Progress Conveyancing Transactions? Perhaps a controversial topic for Stuart Forsdike and me on this week's Conveyancing Matters You Tube chat! There are of course many excellent estate agents supporting #conveyancers. But there are a lot of sales progressors who do not interact well with the #conveyancer on a transaction and we would argue, in many cases, do not speed the progress of a matter We worked out that (conservatively!) conveyancers probably spend on average 2 hours per day dealing with chaser calls and emails from estate agents - that is a whole working day per week when conveyancers are not doing #conveyancing work Is this a good use of conveyancers time? We acknowledge, of course, that conveyancers should try to keep their agents up to date, where the client permits them to do so and there are many fantastic agents out there! As I learn more about the legal field, conveyancing is one area that has really piqued my interest. This specialised area is important to property transactions even if it is hidden away behind the scenes of the legal world, much like those books on the shelves that occasionally even gather dust. Yes, it's not a mundane desk job, but it's exciting! The satisfaction of searching up a title deed and becoming a legal compass for people is immeasurable. You get to assist people with one of life's major turning points, whether it's buying a property that could aid others or selling a house that could house people in safety and shelter, or even helping them pay off their mortgage. The journey is as diverse as the properties you handle, but experience matters in conveyancing. A seasoned legal absorber can ascend from a minor role to a crucial one. #conveyancing #legalinsights
