I think life is all about more than just looking out for ourselves. It's really important to think about what we're leaving behind for people who come after us. Imagine life as a big journey where we all leave footprints. Wouldn't it be great if those footprints showed that we tried to make things better for others, not just for ourselves? It's like planting a tree. We might not always be around to enjoy its shade or fruits, but others will, and that's a beautiful thing. We all want to be remembered for doing good stuff, for helping out, and for making the world a nicer place for future kids and their families. So, let's all try to do our bit, big or small, to help others. Don't you think it's a good idea to live life this way, helping out and leaving good things behind for others?

Chapter 5, in my book: Life is Predictable Available at: https://lnkd.in/eujpmaQD Let’s see how the 80/20 Rule can help your Health to improve, part 6. Prescriptions We do seem to be a prescription taking society. Who’s taking a prescription drug? Researchers found that nearly 75 percent of Americans are on at least one prescription drug. More than 50 percent receive at least two prescriptions and 20 percent are on five or more prescription medications. What drugs are we taking? Antibiotics, antidepressants and painkiller opioids are given 80 percent of the time. When a doctor gives you a prescription, take it! An average of 130,000 Americans die each year because they don’t follow their prescription regimens closely enough. Many patients contribute to their own declining health. Inc. Magazine, reports that it is estimated that 70 percent of all prescriptions are never consumed, and 20 percent of all new drug prescriptions are never filled. 33 percent of filled prescriptions aren’t taken correctly. The result is often high-cost complications. Including more visits to the doctor. In addition, 25 percent of hospital and nursing home admissions are due to patients not doing what the doctor has told them to do. Not having Lab tests done and not taking their medications, being the main non-compliance issues. What’s our takeaway? Do what the doctor tells you to do. You go to them for advice and evaluation; it’s up to you to help yourself Who’s prescribing all these medicines? Puerto’s rule says it all. Pharmaceutical companies that have salespeople calling on physicians direct their people to focus on the top 30 percent of physicians who generally write 90 percent of the prescriptions for the classes of drugs that the company sells.
