Building the future of restaurant delivery | Streamlining the process from order to door | Founder & CEO @Andromeda
I'm not just a CEO or a founder, my company is my life. (together with this little man) Do I mean that I just work 24/7 with nothing else, no, of course not. Andromeda has been around for 30 years. We naively started this company with £500 in our pockets, in our early 20's. We built this at home, at a time when restaurants owned no computers. But 30 years later, we're still here to stay. I've been around the block and seen numerous tech companies rise and fall. New founders are constantly showing up on the scene. They come and go. But Andromeda is my life's work. We established this with one mission in mind. I've only ever worked in the restaurant industry. This + tech was all I knew. I understood the intricacies of what the market needed because I was there on the floor, doing the gruelling work for pennies. For restaurant people, by restaurant people. That's our motto. ---------------------------------- 📌 If you want to learn how to streamline your delivery process, and track orders from payment to door, book a 1:1 call with me or DM me.

Over the past year, I've hosted a few defense tech dinners at my apartment in New York. Learned a few things -- curious to hear what people think: 1) I do the cooking. There's something about preparing food for others that's way more intimate than going out to eat or ordering in DoorDash. Yes it takes time. But it shows people that you care about them, to take the time to prepare it. And, you can tell a story based on what you prepare. Con: when you forget the salad dressing, or don't make enough food, you look like a jacka** (guilty) 2) Less than 50% of the conversation is about the "topic at hand." Yes, everyone is super smart, driven, and focused on some impressive things. But they already know that. No one wants an infomercial. The stories, witty banter, disagreements... that stuff is awesome. I began the most academic debate I've had in years with one of my last guests... can't wait to finish it. 3) I share a bit about *why* I invited folks and how they're connected. I have no idea if this forestalls or encourages discussion - but people are often too modest or too tactical in their own introductions. I give people the chance to introduce themselves, then try to draw out some more specifics and put key connections on the table. I don't play the "guess why you're here" game -- but maybe I should... thoughts? 4) I invite people at different stages of their careers. I don't like overly-themed dinners (e.g., seed def tech founders!). We do good people, at different stages. Founders, investors, senior operators -- the shared "thing" is passion, excellence, and goodness. I think there's something cool about being able to do this without trying to "win the deal" etc. It just makes me happy. It's a small example of the role I hope to play for the defense industry broadly -- bring people together. Point out the opportunities. Let them cook! I'm no Nick Gray but I'm going to keep trying to get better. LMK if you want in!

🚀 50 Tech Coffee Challenge 🚀 I really enjoy meeting founders and getting to learn from them. It has been one of the best things about this challenge. Last week, I met with Kai Brunner to learn more about his journey as a founder and his product, Sig2. Here are some insights from our coffee chat! ☕️ Coffee Chat Highlights ☕️ 💡 Product market fit over everything else Throughout my experience of working with entrepreneurs, I have noticed a constant. Those who focus on finding product market fit have better chances for success with their startups. Even though focusing on technology is key, there needs to be a balance between creating something purely for the sake of technology and creating something that people are going to use. Curating a product for a specific market and a specific problem will make it easier to find people who need that solution and who are going to be willing to pay for it. To create Sig2, Kai focused on the problem he wanted to solve and put that first. For him, there's an opportunity for founders today to build the product with great agencies and thus delegate some parts of the technical side of the business. Throughout our talk, he insisted on the importance of finding those early customers to validate product market fit. Even though there are many ways to go about this, I think one of the best ways is "building in public". By building your product in front of potential users and trying new functionalities with them you can better assess the interest and the actual pain points. When you include the user and gather the information together, you can better create the experience and actually cooperate to solve the problem instead of trying to force a solution onto them. Check out his product on the comments! 💡 Data can see the problems you can It is too easy to be a victim of blindness due to a lack of data. I have for sure been there. When talking about product market fit with Kai, we started talking about how data can help identify problems that are not as evident during daily tasks. This analysis of the data can also help you find better collaboration with your clients and overall a better understanding of how to solve the problems. When trying to make the most out of data and its intricacies, talking to your target client can be the differentiator between being biased with your solution and creating something of value. Wrapping Up! Thanks for sharing your insights with me, Kai! I loved learning more about your approach and your focus on market fit and data. Looking forward to having many more meaningful coffees!

That's why I’m thrilled to share that Linktree has acquired Plann, a game-changing tool that’s going to make life so much easier for creators and small businesses alike. Managing your digital presence across multiple platforms — whether it’s Instagram, YouTube Shorts, or TikTok — takes time, and for creators, time is money.💰 Plann simplifies this process, allowing you to schedule posts, reformat content, and gain the inspiration you need to craft compelling social media posts. It’s all about making your digital life easier, so you can focus on what truly matters: your creativity and your audience. This acquisition is a huge step forward in empowering our users to curate, grow, and monetize their digital universe. I’m so excited for what’s to come as we integrate Plann into Linktree and continue to support creators and businesses on their journey. 🙌 Welcome to the team Christy Laurence! We're going to do great things together! 💪
Today, I’m beyond excited to share — Plann has been acquired by Linktree, an Australian-born global leader I’ve long admired. 🦄 ✨ I met Alex Zaccaria in the very early days of Linktree and loved his identical passion for our space, endless ideas for bootstrapping, and bonded over world-class product experiences as we built our businesses. For me, Linktree was an easy decision to call my new home - and a huge thank you to the entire team (that's you Alex Meyerguz, Rosanna, Lara and Jiaona Zhang (JZ)!), for making the process so smooth, engaging and exciting. With Linktree’s global reach, scale, and innovative technology, combined with our team’s expertise in social media scheduling, I cannot wait to continue helping those running online businesses of every kind succeed in ways we could only dream of before. After 8 years (almost to the day - that's 100 in startup years!) I'm thrilled for a new adventure. To our community and customers - thank you for all of your support, feedback and the same passion you've had for your own businesses that we love being a part of - because the best part of our story, is you. To my team at Plann - past and present - I am forever grateful to you. The late nights, the long hours, and the incredible problem-solving we’ve done together over the years. May this be the sweetest validation of what we've always known, that what you do has always been worthy of the world stage.

The Journey Behind Ganddee - Part 4 As with many people, the pandemic had a huge influence on my current lifestyle. It made me really think about my impact on this world. I was happy with my tech job and enjoying an easy life. During the numerous lockdowns, I asked myself: Is this the impact I want to have? Can I use my experience and work for a better tomorrow? During this period of self-reflection, I realised I needed to do something around ClimateTech, especially with all the craziness going around the world. My journey towards Ganddee was a gradual one. Initially, it started with a few pro bono projects for climate tech companies, where I met many inspiring people. After working on a few projects, I met my co-founder Antoine Rondelet on the ClimateU slack group(recommended if you want to connect with climate enthusiasts). Antoine was already working on the idea of Ganddee and looking for people to lend a hand on the project. Initially, I helped him out part-time, which gave us a good opportunity to test things out and see how well we worked together. Suddenly, I was laid off from the Shopify during the post-pandemic layoffs. For me, this was a blessing in disguise. I realised this was the moment to make a change and put all my energy into something I am truly passionate about: Ganddee. Sometimes, I do miss the fun of traveling or going out or the easy lifestyle, but the passion and energy of people and businesses on our platform keep me highly motivated. Seeing their commitment to sustainability makes every effort worthwhile. The journey is not an easy one, but seeing all the climate disasters around the world keeps strengthening my stubborn determination to not give up and let us fall into a disaster. 🌍 Remember, change begins with us. The climate crisis is a consumption crisis. 💬 Share your experiences and ideas in the comments! Let’s inspire and support each other on our journey towards sustainability. Picture of me buying a second hand table from NochMall by Berliner Stadtreinigung.
