“The staff comes from different generations, different backgrounds, and since we work remotely, different locations. We have different skills and education.   What can we possibly have in common to connect us as a team and spark conversations and connections as fellow human beings?”   Hobbies in common Values system Travel Destinations Interest in Technology Common Life Experiences   Just to name a few. So, under the premise that we might have much more in common with others than we think, the question now is this:   “How can I build connections across my staff/team/department/group?”   The answer can be found in the attached video. It's International Week of Happiness at Work... This initiative shines a light on the importance of happiness in the workplace, recognising that the time we spend at work can have a big impact on our overall well-being. Yesterday I spoke to someone who is planning their own start up. He is currently very unhappy at work 😕 and wants to reconnect with a sense of service and have a dedication to a cause - a fabulous 'why' is ever I heard one! I remember feeling exactly the same 17 years ago when I resigned from BT.   NOW, I love the sense of satisfaction I get when a new client signs up to work with me, when know I can make a MASSIVE impact on their own business satisfaction and financial freedom. (As well as a many, many other reasons that get me in my office everyday; new stationery, creative marketing strategies, working with fabulous people and on and on and on...)
