Our individual “signature” is our Work Ethic and Integrity in the Workplace In today's fast-paced and competitive business world, having a strong work ethic and unwavering integrity are more important than ever. These two qualities not only define who we are as professionals, but also play a crucial role in shaping our success and reputation. Work ethic is the driving force behind our commitment, dedication, and perseverance in our roles. It is the foundation upon which we build our careers and achieve our goals. A strong work ethic means showing up on time, putting in the effort to produce quality work, and going above and beyond what is expected. It is about taking ownership, responsibility and striving for excellence. Integrity, on the other hand, is the cornerstone of trust and credibility in the workplace. It is about being honest, ethical, and trustworthy in all our interactions and decisions. Integrity means doing the right thing even when no one is watching, and holding ourselves accountable for our actions. When we act with integrity, we earn the respect and admiration of our colleagues, clients, and superiors. In conclusion, having a strong work ethic and integrity is essential for success in the workplace. These qualities not only contribute to our professional growth and development, but also help us build strong relationships and earn the trust of those around us. By embodying these values in our everyday work, we can set ourselves up for long-term success and fulfillment in our careers and how people will remember us for years to come.

Of the seven deadly sins, I think we're probably most conflicted about pride. In our lives, we strive to be proud of our achivements. And it's another area I'm interested in exploring - "pride" in an organisation is frequently measured in engagement exercises. It's often a test for a potential new employer - "Would I feel proud to work there?" So it's useful to think about what mean by pride. Pride in what the organisation does? Pride in the success of the organisation? Pride in the impact the organisation has on the world? Or the impact it *doesn't* make? Pride in your own work? Pride in chosen the right employer? How else can pride manifest itself at work?

Showing up to work, making an effort to be friendly to coworkers and having a great work ethic, these are all ways to make difference at your workplace. Whether or not we realize it, we are always making an impact at our jobs. We can make a much positive impact by delivering high-quality work and making sure others know they can trust you to get the job done. Demonstrating competence leaves a lasting impression. It is often easier said than done, but when others view us as trustworthy most likely they will reciprocate.
