Some interviewers would interrupt you while you highliting those points and say " Uhm... I asked you to tell me about yourself, we will get to your career highlights"  That's when Danile, as much as I love him, but this is when I start to dislike him a bit. I'll get so scared, my body will start shivering; more especially my left leg.😂😢Hate that leg. As if that's not enough, I'll start mumbling. Then move on to introspecting while on the interview "Dude you got this, you know yourself, this is your dream, take it, your chance is now. Just relax and talk" then my other self who I don't even know his place of residence will verbally and yet silently whisper "it's over, go back to the drawing board" My weakness is being a perfectionist, but I've been working on that flaw. So far so good.  This question is really tricky, I suggest a daily introspection of who you really are, both personally and professionally, but DONT dwell much on the personal, rather focus on you as a professional. Whether you're a student, or a fresh out of uni or college you're still a professional. Tap and tap in those moments. Find yourself and the "tell me about yourself" interview question will begin to feel lighter 😇. Once you've found yourself you'll be able to articulate this question in more ways than one.  Acknowledge the fact that the world is evolving daily, meaning you might be too, so make it a habit to learn YOU. Imagine being outdated on yourself🫣. Don't do that to yourself.  Trying to breakthrough is really a toll, but we soldier on😅🙏💪.  Today its a new day, another application or two😁. Let's go 🏌️🤾

Great advice! It is all about telling your story

Many of you are looking for your next role. Here are some tips to help you shine in your next job interview, informational conversation, or personal introduction. Practice makes perfect. Keep moving forward and hold your head high.

One of the biggest problem of today’s recruiting is the selection based on not what you can do , but how good you are at presenting what you can do . This process will NEVER select people like Jobs,Musk and many others with entrepreneur’s spirit and many other talented people . Many years ago , someone decided that one of the department needed “fresh blood”, no technical background needed, but “soft skills” as it was more of a sales role. So they brought very good storytelling person. He was funny,knew jokes and other entertaining skills. The problem was department was selling technical solution . It was devastation - end users were blunt - if you still want to make business with us, don’t bring that guy again to waste my time. The person left after 1 year, department was closed . But this was the lesson learnt and the story I was telling when something similar happened to me and I was pushed to hire someone using the same skillset pattern. I didn’t budge though . Select someone who can contribute to the team with his knowledge and capabilities . If this is in engineering , this could be the most introvert person that could be a genius although seemed more like disguised serial killer. It is true that for high position you need great storytelling profile. Because at that level you are more in politics than in business and to be big contributor is not the top most needed skill. In other words , be careful with good storytelling persons . That might be the only skill they have mastered . #hiring #intervews #skillset

Some of the most talented, direction-following folks in the workplace have auditory processing issues. If you ask this question but also provide it in writing, whether it’s on a piece of paper or displayed on the screen, I guarantee you’d receive more concise, confident responses. Maybe the issue isn’t their ability to speak about themselves without leaving on a prop. Maybe the issue is the ableist environment in which you conduct interviews.

Finding your first client as a recruiter is hard. Everyone tells you what to do. Here’s what NOT to do: 1. Don’t brag about your network size (Quality > Quantity) 2. Don’t tell clients how great you are (Show them how you can help) 3. Don’t solely focus on clients (Build relationships w/ candidates equally) 4. Don’t send the same message to everyone (Make it personal) 5. Don’t be vague about your niche (Be specific in your value) 6. Don’t forget to research (Always understand the need first) 7. Don’t overpromise (Always set realistic expectations) 8. Don’t neglect follow-ups (shows you are dedicated) 9. Don’t ignore feedback (criticism will help you improve) 10.
