| WEEKLY REFLECTIONS |
We're not sure where this week went exactly and are a bit discombobulated by time just whizzing by...
Meetings are the one constant for us and while there have been a few of those, we’ve mostly been heads down, chunking through our internal workflow. You know, the unsexy, essential, focused and detail-oriented stuff. The kind of work that feels like it is going at a snail’s pace while you are in it, but in retrospect gives you deep satisfaction and a sense of achievement.
Our retail & education platform Oyster & Moon has progressed A LOT. It’s a custom development, so for those of you that have built something like this you'll know it’s a constantly evolving thing. We feel like we may have broken the back of this because now everything seems to be moving faster and better and we've taken some deep learnings, which should make everything else run a little more seamlessly. We’ll share more on this soon, as we introduce the backend of the platform and our dev partners (Ben Carson from Doodl).
Our marketing partners Objective came by, and it was great to meet Anne Casey who has recently taken over the business. As we reflect on our marketing and dev partners we've come to realise how lucky we are to be surrounded by people who share our commitment to Oyster & Moon as well as our values and strive to offer above and beyond what is required on the daily. We're looking forward to working with Objective over the coming months as we continue to drive market visibility and raise the profile of Oyster & Moon.
It was lovely to have Albert Scott and Annie Johnson from Foundation North swing by to discuss collaborative potential particularly for our own Pacific communities. We deeply appreciate having purpose-filled conversations based on mutual respect and aroha with people who are passionate about the same things we are. We see great alignment with Foundation North's strategy.
A highlight has been having one of our collective taking up residence with us this week. Great to spend heaps of quality time with Amy Lautogo from Infamy Apparel. Now a resident of sunny Gisborne, Amy has been in Auckland making a custom gown for a client. All we’ll say is that we've been awash with neon yellow. You’ll see this creation (made in our office no less!) across Infamy Apparel’s socials over the next couple of weeks We love, love, love it when our collective use the space!!
As our Miah Faumuina powers towards the launch of Dulve in NYC the week wouldn’t be complete without a session finalising her pitch deck and financial modelling.
Lastly a wee shout-out to the team Jaz, Hannah Teipo, Ana Taranaki and Jordy – we've lots to achieve and your commitment to our kaupapa is unparalleled. We couldn’t do what we do without all that wahine power!
Oh and if anyone knows about vending machine electronic payment systems - call us! we've got a great challenge for you!
