Ah, this has stuck its head out again has it... We've known about this for ages: https://lnkd.in/ehvSNkPT Firstly, it's not the end of cookies. It's the end of third-party cookies ("3P" cookies). Anyone talking about "cookie depreciation" is being inaccurate. 1st-party cookies ("1P cookies") are here to stay and are currently vital. For example, 1P cookies allow a website to remember that you have logged in, and they remember your shopping cart contents for you. Developers have had a long time to prepare for the depreciation of 3P cookies. For Google Ads (specifically Chrome users), remarketing will probably lean a lot more on Chrome logins to identify users. Sure we'll lose some audience members but the machine is too big to fail. For remarketing to continue to work, I suspect a user would need to be logged into Chrome with their Google account. We've been missing out on third-party cookies from other browsers for years now (Safari, Firefox, Brave). This isn't a revolution. The biggest player has finally made the shift and is now testing with 1% of users. I can't see how View-through conversion measurement can continue to work, it'd be a shame to lose that.

It employs various algorithms and sources to generate results.   While DuckDuckGo is known for its privacy features, users should be aware that it may not provide as comprehensive search results as some other search engines. Some users may prefer DuckDuckGo for its emphasis on privacy, while others may choose different search engines based on their specific needs and preferences.

But what does it involve, and are you actually compliant with it? Simply having a cookie banner on your website is not enough - it needs to be implemented correctly. 📘 On-page Default vs. On-page Update in the Consent Tab: What does it mean? Yep, yet another consent mode post. Clients have been asking a lot of questions, mostly related to consent mode, so why not. Let's keep this short and simple. Why do you have 3 columns, each with a consent state? (like this wasn't already complicated enough) 👉 On-page Default This is the setting you configured in the tag template. Usually, most parameters like analytics_storage (the parameter to send data to Google Analytics) are set to false. In most cases, you will find that most of these parameters are set to “false” by default. 👉 On-page Update This one is responsible for telling you when the user interacted with the cookie banner and what changes were made to the default consent state on a particular page. 👉 Current State The current state, as the name indicates, tells you what the current state of consent is. To be honest, I don’t know why we need a third column. The Current State has the same value as the on-page update (if you do know, please explain in the comments). So basically, there are really two types of pieces of information: what is the default consent state and what changes were made on a given page. #consentmode #privacy #digitalanalytics #ga4
