What I've learned in my years of working for retailers in leadership so far 5 things 1. There's no such thing as moving too fast in where you wanna be in your career there's only the ones that want you to move at their same pace unless you still need improvement 2. Don't take feedback personally use it as a learning lesson and keep improving continuously 3. You are never too good to take feedback from all levels whether it makes sense or not 4. You dictate your career and your timeline at the end of the day it's your passion and your at home life that is affected by your decisions 5. Hear the voice of your team and create action from what you've heard.

Lead by example and through positive impact. 3. **Personal Fulfillment:** Achieving impact brings a deeper sense of satisfaction and purpose than simply holding a prestigious title. 4. **Legacy Over Labels:** What you leave behind, your legacy, is defined by the impact you've made on others, not by the titles you've acquired throughout your career. 5. **Continuous Improvement:** Strive to improve your skills and knowledge not just for career advancement, but to enhance the value you provide to others.

I have been thinking alot about leaders and leadership alot recently. Being a store Manger and having the responsibility to lead a group of people is empowering, we have to strive to earn respect, by treating our teams with fairness and honesty, I believe a true leader is not respected for there title, but for there actions. A true leader for me is all about the people, and how me as a store Manager can inspire my team to perform beyond there normal limitations. It's really important that we invest our energy and time into our people so we always have a positive impact on there learning and there careers. Having a positive attitude and mindset will always be a great attribute in leading a successful team. Culture is key ,treat your colleagues and people on how you would like to be treated yourself. I believe your behaviour and communication and being consistent with your team makes you a great leader, not your title.

Yesterday, I got a chance to once again do what I love: work with a great team at Accenture FederalServices !! Thanks to Tawny Elgatian, MPP, CPTD for her leadership in bringing the team together and organizing a team building session around strengths. We spent some time diving into their unique strengths and looking at the collective strengths of the team to gain a fresh perspective on how they can work together even more effectively and continue being a high-performing team. You feel called to do more than answer to someone else. You’re the go to person to fix things, to take on more projects… Leadership relies on you, yet you aren’t respected or given a promotion. You’re meant for more… You don’t believe in yourself yet, but I’m here to help you to. You are tired of going round and round, feeling like your life is Groundhog’s Day. You’re afraid of change, but more afraid to be stuck in this never ending cycle of what is exhausting you. As a leader, do you offer your team gratitude and recognition? As a parent, do you offer your child validation and recognition? As a human, do you offer those around you validation and recognition? In every case, you want to be recognized and validated for your effort. Be the person who does this for others.

Always lead by example. If you wish your team to be punctual, always be there 5 mins ahead of time. If you wish your team to be motivated, always bring them together. If you wish your team to achieve, always recognize their smallest accomplishments. If you wish your team to enjoy their work, always create a positive environment. Be their leader, not their boss.
