Insightful conversations and a great ‘reality check’ panel at #Flameconf on the future purpose of #infrastructure. 🎤 👏 #Europe’s #energy infrastructure has coped well during the #crisis and #naturalgas #TSOs put significant efforts into handling changing flow patterns, #Hungary being an example of completely changed dominant flow directions. The current European #regulatory discussions, however, make landlocked #CEE countries feel sometimes that they are watching a different movie, due to their inherited physical capabilities, the need for further infrastructure developments to facilitate access to more Southern supplies, and the predicted stable regional #gas #consumption as a result of ongoing coal-to-gas switch efforts. #Renewable gases will surely be carried on future #energy infrastructure, however, the current focus on them is undue in comparison to the ongoing #securityofsupply and #marketintegration tasks of regional TSOs. At the same time, too strict regulations on renewable gases will prevent regional #hydrogen supply from emerging in sufficient quantities.
