Some would say this is an employee issue. As a safety professional, you should take a step back and ask if the employer failed. Nine times out of ten, this is an employer issue. This is the “get er done” mentality forced upon employees from their employers. Saving a few minutes can and will cost you millions and even jail time for company owners and managers.
The whoas of residential construction. As we were visiting one of our clients this past Friday, we turned around and saw this roofer working without fall protection let alone any form of PPE. Even though OSHA has a 30 foot variance for roofers and iron workers, what this photo does not show is that this worker is in fact over 48 feet in the air. Why is this still a common practice for residential construction? Is it lack of training? Is it the worker saying, “I’m just going to get up there real quick and get it done?” Is it a poor safety culture of the company he works for and/or the residential general contractor? Or, is it combination of all of all of the above? This is a pattern that must be stopped. Workers lives are on the line and companies need to take responsibility. This is done first by changing the culture inside of your organization. Workers safety is dependent on the CEO of your company pushing the safety culture through all department management and down to the crews that perform the work. Next, provide proper training to all crews so they know how and when to use proper fall protection. Next, provide the right fall protection equipment to your workers and maintain it. Ensure your foremen are inspecting the fall protection equipment daily to maintain it. Additionally, ensure that your foremen are having the workers actually use the fall protection through audits. This can get so much more in depth, but know this; DAE Management Inc. is able to provide all these services to your company. With our years of experience, we can help your organization build an effective Safety Culture. All these services way from your CEO, down to your newest apprentice. We able to provide jobsite audits and constant evaluation of your safety program. #safety #safetyculture #safetyconsultant #safetyconsulting #safetyfirst #safetyprogram To learn more contact us at: www.daesafety.com/contact

What’s among the most profitable types of types of work in the contracting world? Drain cleaning and sewer replacement! No, you may not be a plumber; however, if you’ve ever thought about venturing into plumbing or drain cleaning… you may want to give this a view… Drain Cleaning and mainline sewer replacements are lucrative businesses when you understand how to structure the pricing and have a strong selling system. It provides a critical service to customers, can generate massive profits, and creates exceptional earning potential for technicians—and they don’t need licensing. However, technicians and contractors do need training, which is why CertainPath developed “Fundamentals of Drain Cleaning.” It’s a two-day technical and sales training course offered at CertainPath member’s facility, Deluxe Plumbing & Heating in Bethlehem, PA… In this interview, we talk with Missy Jones who helped build this course with Deluxe’s owner & CertainPath member, Larry Shoemaker, over more than 12 months. Missy shares a wealth of insight over this interview, giving you an inside look into the course—and the type of training you should be doing with your team. And you’ll gain some insights into how you should be communicating with homeowners, so they hire you for their drain cleaning and mainline sewer replacement jobs.

➡️We were on the job recently with our very own Alex Osborn, Construction Supervisor here at Action Plumbing, and we asked him why it is often important to hire a professional plumber instead of attempting to DIY a repair or new construction project. His answer? "𝙋𝙡𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙨𝙣'𝙩 𝙖𝙨 𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙮 𝙖𝙨 𝙞𝙩 𝙢𝙖𝙮 𝙨𝙚𝙚𝙢. 𝙄𝙩'𝙨 𝙖 𝙨𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙗𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙚 𝙖 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙧 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩." Whether it's a small repair or a full-scale construction project, plumbing requires precision, experience, and the right tools to get the job done right the first time. That’s why trusting a skilled professional like Alex ensures the work is safe, reliable, and built to last. 🚩At Action Plumbing, we bring expertise to every project—so you don’t have to leave anything to chance. #PlumbingSkills #OBXPlumber #JoinATrade

A clean job site isn’t just about appearance. It’s about safety and efficiency. Leaving a clean site isn’t just about appearances, it’s about respect, accountability, and professionalism. A messy site speaks volumes about how you handle the rest of your work and is the quickest way to avoid an opportunity to bid with us at Brien Contracting.
