[A bit late, but worth sharing!🥳] Last week, I attended a #psychological #safety workshop with my colleagues. While the session leaned heavily on theory, the most #impactful part was the #reflective #learning component, where we documented our #insights and takeaways. This exercise turned abstract #concepts into personal #reflections. Psychological safety in the #workplace isn’t a hot topic for many, and it’s rarely discussed openly. However, many of us, especially with years of #work #experience, practice it subconsciously. My background in social services made these concepts familiar, but I’ve come to realise they are vital for everyone, regardless of their field. Ultimately, whether it’s about effectively #communicating your #ideas or boosting your #productivity, building our own ‘#safety #network’ at work is crucial. The last thing we want is an #environment that hinders our #growth and #innovation. How do you foster psychological safety in your workplace? I’d love to hear your thoughts! If you’re interested in learning more about the course I attended, feel free to reach out or check out the details [https://lnkd.in/gnQEW36k] Thank you, Eugene Koh, for your insights and sharing! 💡 #Leadership #PsychologicalSafety #WorkplaceCulture #ProfessionalGrowth #ReflectiveLearning

Let's talk about psychological safety. We've seen it become a buzzword. In some circles, it's overlooked or misunderstood as excessive leniency or coddling. Psychological safety is crucial to an innovative and happy workplace but for it to be effective, it needs to be paired with strong, clear quality standards and a healthy culture of feedback. To feel psychologically safe, people in your organization need to know that they can trust their team to always listen to, understand, and help them build on their ideas – providing feedback from a place of wanting to uphold something bigger than the individual: the success of the whole. Encourage big swings, sure, but also ensure that learning and excellence follow. This duality separates the good from the great. You can find this and more Start Here tips in our Sparks collection https://lnkd.in/gjSTb_RD #PsychologicalSafety #Culture #Feedback #TeamTrust #ContinuousImprovement #LeadershipDevelopment #Excellence #Collaboration

To the Physicians, Nurses, & Healthcare (Clinical and NonClincal Leaders) in my community: I was recently interviewed on a podcast about the contributors to burnout and the workforce shortages due to mass exit that we are seeing in healthcare. One theme that continued to emerge was psychological safety. When people do not feel seen, heard, respected, valued and welcomed they don't stay. That is why I am passionate about the work I do, and why I am leading a training hosted by Maryland Healthcare Education Institute on Psychological Safety The training is this Thursday, September 12th 10-11:30 am EST, and here's what I'll cover. - What Psychological Safety is and why it's important... no imperative to prioritize in the healthcare space - What are the specific characteristics and elements that contribute to and take away psychological safety - How does building trust create safety, and what actions build and take away trust - What are specific actions individuals can take to build safety w/colleagues and patients - What measures can organizations begin to take to build trust and safety in the organizations It is not too late to join, so if this topic is of interest to you, your leadership, or your organization, I invite you to jump and share with the leaders of your organization as well. Helping individuals and SMEs thrive by elevating their authenticity, purpose and direction through 1-2-1 and group coaching | confidence | well-being | leadership
What do you need to feel safe to speak up? Coaching is often described as a 'safe space' where people can be heard, without judgement. This intentional contracting of how we'll be together in this space provides comfort, confidence and mutual respect. When I work with groups or teams, they sometimes haven't ever discussed how the team will be together to create the conditions they need for learning. Without this agreement, so much is left unsaid or unchallenged and this can breed resentment in the team, self-doubt, silo working, disagreements and de-motivation. When you've taken the time to agree your group 'rules of engagement', you are able to fully contribute, and in time, develop cohesive and authentically connected relationships. A 'safe psychological space' is an environment where you feel secure, respected, and valued, being able to express yourself without fear of negative consequences. But how often do you get that space? Does it happen naturally or are you intentional about creating that in your team? Having this safety is vital in order to challenge ideas, to be open about your views, to speak up when you disagree and to continuously learn and improve. I'd love to know what are the conditions you need for safety in your team and how do you create them? #PsychologicalSafety #InclusiveWorkplace #EmployeeWellBeing #Empowerment #DiversityAndInclusion

Just finished reading a book #TheCompoundEffect by Darren Hardy, I want to share some small actions for building a healthy and robust work culture of #Care #Respect and #Ownership of failures and mistakes. • Implement daily "gratitude minute" and weekly learning shares • Start "mistake of the month" sharing sessions • Establish regular personal check-ins between managers and team members • Create a peer support program • Implement a "no-blame" policy for reporting errors • Lead by example: admit and discuss your own mistakes • Launch a "culture champion" program • Conduct regular pulse surveys on psychological safety • Create and review a "lessons learned" database • Provide training on constructive feedback and emotional intelligence • Develop a mentorship program focused on care and respect • Use visual reminders to reinforce cultural values • Establish a peer recognition system for exemplary behavior #CompoundEffect #WorkplaceCulture #LeadershipDevelopment #EmployeeEngagement #ContinuousImprovement #PsychologicalSafety #GrowthMindset #OrganizationalLearning #HRStrategy #CorporateCulture #ProfessionalDevelopment #EmployeeWellbeing #BusinessLeadership #TeamBuilding #WorkplaceInnovation #ChangeManagement #TalentManagement #CultureOfRespect #LearningFromMistakes #AccountabilityAtWork

Just finished How to Collaborate with Your Colleagues to Build Psychological Safety Together! Check it out: https://lnkd.in/dUujrWep 🌻Mental Health Awareness month!🌻 Make sure your company is not JUST having a training to leaders, managers, and employees. Ensure it is actually living up to expectations. Too many times the physical safety is measured and shared on intranet, but psychological safety is rarely measured. How come? What do you do as an individual to support having a psychological safe work environment, for you and your colleagues? Walk the Walk, and Talk the Talk! Psychological safety is not a one-time exercise... ⚘️ #teamcollaboration #emotionalintelligence #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness
