An inspirational day at Wind Finland! 🌬 Taaleri Energia was strongly represented at the Wind Finland seminar last week. Taamir Fareed, Senior Adviser for Taaleri Energia, hosted the seminar, and Jenny-Li Holmström, Legal Director & Head of ESG, was one of the key note speakers. Jenny-Li highlighted how sustainability in the wind power industry has evolved from a local to a global focus, and how companies need to consider the whole supply chain. Previously, sustainability efforts in Finland were carried out mainly at wind farms, but now they are also integrated into the core strategies of companies, with boards of directors and executive management teams also implementing sustainability initiatives. "As companies have a legal obligation to be aware of the impacts throughout their supply chain, the industry must work together to tackle this challenge," Holmström emphasised. The seminar offered inspiring sessions, insightful discussions with industry experts, and great networking opportunities. Networks and collaboration play a vital role in the wind energy sector, and it was a pleasure to explore key topics with leading experts. 📷 Photos of Taamir and Jenny-Li: Saari Visuals #TaaleriEnergia #RenewableEnergy #WindPower

Following the global stocktaking, H.E Dennis Francis launched a Call to Action to the international community to: ↪️Deliver on extending access to electricity to over 600 million people currently without it. ↪️Provide clean cooking solutions to over 2 billion people who still rely on harmful fuels, to rapidly accelerate the transition to clean, renewable energy, in a just, orderly, and equitable manner. ↪️Dramatically scale up finance and investment for developing countries. ↪️Boost public-private partnerships, especially for technology transfer to the developing countries; in particular, Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States.
Pleased to launch Call to Action: Further Acceleration of the Implementation of #SDG7 towards 2030 and Beyond, during the global stocktaking marking the completion of the United Nations Decade of Sustainable Energy for All to further accelerate the implementation of SDG 7 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which was held on Friday, 19 April 2024, as part of the #UNGASustainabilityWeek. Looking forward to your support in mobilizing collaborative action on the implementation of the SDG 7.

Our industry is built on sustainability. The fibre based packaging industry is using 62% of renewable energy in operations. This percentage is increasing year after year. Please find another example of Pro Carton - The association of carton and cartonboard manufacturers member FOLBB Group in Baiersbronn, Germany. We practice sustainability. We live circularity.
🌿 Powering the future with sustainability! 💡 At our Baiersbronn mill in Germany, the FOLBB Group is now using green electricity 🌞💨🌊—sourced from renewable energy like wind, solar, and hydro. This is a significant step in reducing our carbon footprint and driving our ESG strategy forward. Together, we’re shaping a greener tomorrow. 🌍 #Sustainability #GreenEnergy #ESG #RenewableEnergy #sustainablepackaging #cop29 #sdg

🔔 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 💪 APAC’s electric systems are expected to undergo major reforms in the coming decades to accommodate and enable renewable energy sources. To accelerate the upgrades, private sector investments are crucial with energy auctions playing an important role in facilitating renewables financing. This was an insight pointed out during the opening panel of the FT-Nikkei Asia Green Tech Summit 2024 by Our APAC CEO Pedro Vasconcelos. This point was raised during the dialogue session on Asia’s climate policies and their influence towards achieving net-zero emissions goals. Exchanges like this among energy transition stakeholders are essential to drive climate action and sustain its momentum. Thank you Financial Times and Nikkei Asia for leading this important call to action by providing a platform for key stakeholders to discuss strategies to create a cleaner, affordable and reliable future. At EDP Renewables APAC, we are strongly committed to accelerating the energy transition in the APAC region. Join us on this critical mission to drive climate action. #EDPWeChooseEarth

🌱 Growth in the renewable energy sector is accelerating at an unprecedented rate, especially in developing countries. Here's why: Firstly, the cost of renewable technologies has plummeted, making them more accessible. Solar and wind power, in particular, have seen dramatic reductions in price, outcompeting traditional fossil fuels in many regions. Secondly, the urgency of climate change is pushing nations to adopt cleaner energy sources. Developing countries, often the most affected by climate change, are taking bold steps to reduce their carbon footprint. Thirdly, international funding and investment in renewables are on the rise. Organizations like the World Bank and private investors are pouring capital into green projects, recognising both their environmental and economic potential. Finally, the drive for energy independence is a significant motivator. Renewable energy offers developing countries the chance to reduce their reliance on imported fuels, bolstering their energy security and local economies. At UPP, we're excited to be part of this transformative journey, connecting visionary leaders with the energy firms shaping our sustainable future. 🌍💡🔋 #RenewableEnergy #SustainableDevelopment #GlobalImpact
