Fun times were had and memories forged during our recent annual Wateroam team retreat. More than just a get-together, it was a first – a chance for our seasoned crew, eager interns, and enthusiastic international teammates (including our Indonesian friends visiting Singapore for the first time!) to finally come together. 🙋♂️ 🙋♀️ My favourite activity: Tufting! Everyone, from our founders David Pong and Chong Tee Lim to our talented interns Lee Ying Qi and Ernest Yen unleashed their inner artist and designed their own miniature carpets. To me, this activity was really a metaphor for how we work at Wateroam. Just like the carpets we made, Wateroam thrives on a balance of structure and creativity. We work with guiding principles (templates), but also empower our team to express themselves and give room for innovation. 🎨 For example, our interns Ying Qi and Ernest spearheaded our foray into TikTok last year with fresh, innovative content! 📱 Everything that Wateroam is today is because of the work of everyone who has come through our doors. I had a lot of fun with the team, laughing together, sharing meals and building lasting connections. The time together really reinforced our collaborative spirit, and reminded me that even as we work hard for our vision to end prolonged thirst, we can enjoy the journey, enjoy working with each other and have some fun along the way ;) Want to be part of our next adventure? Last week, devi successfully held the second staff group building activity in Huizhou Double Moon Bay. It was not only a pleasant trip, but also an important way for us to build a strong team spirit and stabilise team emotions.#WorkplaceHappiness During the two-day trip to the Bay #teambuilding , we believe that our employees gained much more than just a fun time - the reunion paid off beyond the actual expenses in terms of deepening mutual understanding, enhancing team cohesion, promoting collaboration, and boosting morale. Such a group experience not only deepens the bond between employees, but also strengthens communication and trust within the team. #OutdoorActivities Research has proven that organising outings for employees is effective in boosting productivity and employee satisfaction. When colleagues connect outside of the office, it can inspire new and innovative thinking while creating a more positive work environment. This retreat was a great opportunity to break down barriers, learn from each other and bring new perspectives to our work. Empowerment: We pushed each other to conquer our fears and reach the summit, embodying the spirit of ownership and autonomy.
