🎄 Wrapping Up the Year in Style! 🎄
As 2024 comes to a close, we took some time to celebrate not just the season, but everything our team has accomplished this year. From big wins to overcoming challenges, each of you has played a vital role in making this year a success—and we couldn’t be prouder of all your achievements.
Our festive celebrations started with a memorable Christmas dinner at The Botanist in Cardiff, where delicious food and a cozy atmosphere set a wonderful tone for the evening. The fun ramped up at Roxy Lanes, where the team battled it out in bowling, showcased precision on the shuffleboard, and channelled their inner Winter Olympians with an exciting game of curling—a definite personal highlight of the evening! 🥌🎳
The celebrations didn’t stop there! The following week, a few of our team members embraced the season at Cardiff Winter Wonderland, enjoying ice skating in the beautiful setting of Cardiff Castle. It was a magical way to end the year on a high note, even with a few stylish tumbles!
Thank you all for your passion and commitment this year—we’re so lucky to have a team like you. Here’s to a joyful Christmas, and a relaxing holiday season. Nadolig Llawen o TACP (UK) Ltd Merry Christmas from TACP (UK) Ltd! 🎅✨

I have been thinking about lot about the complexity we put into design, especially in the products that are designed to make our lives simpler. But isn't the sign of genius in the simplicity of our design.
I've known Viktor for years and the product he and his company sells is the experience of skating made possible by the efficiency of simplicity. No energy draining chillers, nor complex machinery, resources or materials. Just a flush locking skatable surface applicable in almost every environment, hot or cold, indoors or out. At the top of a building, or in the middle of your basement.
Simplicity of design. Genius
Experience winter magic like never before at the Grand Hyatt Nashville ! ✨ Our rooftop rink offers breathtaking views, a cozy ambiance, and delicious food to complete the perfect skating experience. Glide into the holiday spirit in style! 🎄

With the start of the Olympics….
Did you realize the various events describe our lives?
What to know 5 of the 39 analogies? Read below….
• Is it archery where you are trying to hit the bullseye? There is a hot investment that will be a jackpot and things better.
• Would it be table tennis? Things are moving fast, and you are trying to keep your eye on the ball in play.
• Could diving be the best description? Do you just go forward into the water or add some sort of twists and turns?
• How about mountain biking? You have some long uphill climbs and on the way down a few big obstacles.
• Would rowing describe your strategy? Working with a team towards a common goal.
We all are participating in “sports” and the outcomes are different for each of us.
What event describes your strategy and why?

What is Techdoping?
Olympics medals technology cheat sheet:
1. United States
- **Nike's "Vaporfly" Shoes**: American athletes were among the first to use Nike's Vaporfly shoes, which featured carbon-fiber plates and thick, responsive foam that significantly improved running efficiency. The shoes were so effective that they sparked debates over whether they constituted techdoping, leading to new regulations on running shoe design by World Athletics.
- **Swimsuits (LZR Racer)**: In 2008, many American swimmers used Speedo's LZR Racer swimsuits, which reduced drag and improved buoyancy. These suits were eventually banned after numerous world records were shattered, as they were seen as giving an unfair technological advantage.
2. United Kingdom
- **Cycling (Team Sky/INEOS Grenadiers)**: British cycling teams, particularly Team Sky (now INEOS Grenadiers), have been known for their extensive use of technology and data analytics. Their "marginal gains" philosophy involved using the latest equipment, such as advanced bikes, skinsuits, and aerodynamic testing, to gain competitive advantages. While this wasn’t illegal, some critics argued it bordered on techdoping.
- **Swimming (Full-Body Swimsuits)**: British swimmers also used the controversial Speedo LZR Racer suits, benefiting from the same technological advances before they were banned.
3. Germany
- **Cycling and Speed Skating**: German athletes have benefited from advancements in cycling and speed skating technologies, including aerodynamic suits and optimized bike designs. These innovations have often been within the rules, but they pushed the boundaries of what was considered acceptable.
- **Winter Sports Equipment**: Germany has also been at the forefront of developing advanced bobsleighs, luge sleds, and skis, raising questions about whether the performance gains were more due to technology than skill.
4. Norway
- **Cross-Country Skiing**: Norway, a powerhouse in cross-country skiing, has invested heavily in developing high-tech ski equipment and clothing. Their use of advanced waxing techniques and materials has sometimes sparked debates over the fairness of such technological advantages.
5. Australia
- **Swimming**: Like the U.S. and the U.K., Australian swimmers also used the Speedo LZR Racer suits during the 2008 Beijing Olympics, leading to numerous record-breaking performances before the suits were banned.
6. France
- **Cycling (Mechanical Doping)**: While not widespread, there have been instances of mechanical doping (using hidden motors in bikes) in cycling, with some accusations targeting French athletes. However, these incidents are rare and generally involve individuals rather than national teams.
7. China - we don’t know, as they use highly advanced technology.

Lunke, Erik Bjørnson, and Susanne Nordbakke. 2024. “Which Measures Can Reduce Parental Driving to Sport Activities?” Findings, September.
https://lnkd.in/gN6u_eqK
We conducted a survey to investigate how parents evaluate the effect (on their own behaviour) of five measures to reduce driving of children to sport activities in the municipality of Bærum, Norway. We find that parents’ evaluation of the effect varies for each measure, where the largest (perceived) effect is found in providing buses to activities. Moreover, we find large disparities in potential effect between different sports. Carpooling and walking/cycling groups are more relevant for soccer and handball, activities that take place in children’s local area. For skiing and ice-skating, we find a stronger effect in providing the possibility to store gear at the activity location. The disparities in potential effects among type of activities are probably linked to differences of locations of activities or in amount of gear that has to be brought along.
Slots to visit Father Christmas are being booked up... trips to Lapland are being discussed... ice skating trips are being planned... food delivery slots are reserved for Christmas week... and the list goes on.
Christmas is just 50 days away and we thought it might be helpful to share some top tips for getting organised for Christmas, and how to plan ahead for a stress-free festive season!

Now that the Olympics are over, can we talk about what sports we want to see in the future? I think the IOC is missing big by not hybridizing more sports! Here's my Top 10:
1) Target Javelin. Same as normal javelin throw but you have to hit targets too.
2) Trampoline Target Shooting. What's better than training people to be able to shoot upside down mid-flip?
3) MotorCross Jousting. Basically anyone that loves NASCAR is gonna be into this!
4) Full Contact Cycle Boxing. I find track cycling just to be Ok, but how much better would it be if you could just punch your opponent as you pass them?
5) Archery Biathlon. Why do the archers just stand there? I say give them 10 stations and combine the running times with accuracy.
6) Water Polo Jiu Jitsu. If you didn't know, but water polo is a very dirty sport below the waterline but no fighting is allowed unlike hockey. These people should be able to grapple to settle their differences. The difficulty level is off the charts!
7) Multiplayer Fencing. Like normal fencing but you're actually in a closed space with 3 other people. Last one standing wins.
8) Package Delivery Triathlon. Sailing + Road Cycling + Equestrian.
9) Interpretive Dance Mountain Biking. It's not just about how good you can bike but also how you FEEL about it inside.
10) Team Pentathlon. Ok hear me out. Each country can choose ANY 5 sports to compete in. After each event, if you're not Top 10 you don't get to go onto the next event. Last 3 teams are Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
If any international federations or tv execs need me to consult, I am available :D
