Principal Recruiter | supporting businesses to hire faster in DevSecOps, Platform, and Software | 15,000 strong network | over 45 recommendations
If you ask any Hiring Manager about their common gripes when hiring, two issues often come up. 1. the quality of candidates compared to the brief 2. the time taken to find these candidates and ultimately, filling the role Luckily when Chris Townsend was hiring for his technical team he found me. 👀😂 Here's what he had to say: "I approached Sam to assist in filling two senior roles. His understanding of the brief was excellent and he presented some of the best candidates we saw, was quick to adapt candidates to feedback, and ultimately succeeded in filling both roles within a very short space of time. He's a pleasure to work with and I'd recommend him if you're after quality candidates" Processes are going too slow and you don't know why? Candidates you are receiving just aren't cutting it? Drop me a message. #techhiring #devops #qatesters #awsrecruitment

— I Don't Typically Post Like This, But It Feels Necessary Right Now "It’s been 9 months since I was laid off. This has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced, and it is hard not to let it affect my mental health and mindset. I know no one is truly prepared for a layoff or a long job search, but I really was not. There was absolutely no part of my brain that would have even considered a layoff in my future." Meet Jordan Ernstes, former Project Manager at T1V, Inc. She was impacted by the layoffs in June 2023 and has been putting her all to land a role. This is where we all have to show some support in such challenging times. "Now I’ve hit 9 months. I’ve applied for hundreds of jobs. Received less than 10 interviews (most of which were initial interviews with 3rd party recruiters)... received 0 offers… been ghosted more times than I can count… and received so many rejection emails before even getting an interview that I sometimes feel like I’m not job searching, I’m just playing a game of “which/how many jobs can I get rejected from today?" Jordan wrote in her open-to-work post. employHER urges everyone to help her in any way possible. You can send the right opportunities her way, recommend her to someone who is hiring, share her open-to-work post in your network, or write her a recommendation if you know her professionally. Jordan, you can also consider creating your profile on www.employHER.com and exploring the opportunities we have been posting daily. We hope you'll find the opportunities you have been looking for. Jordan is a forward-thinking Project Manager with 3 years of progressive experience in successfully driving large-scale software and audio-visual projects. She has proven project management and operational expertise with demonstrated success managing multiple business tasks and implementing substantial visual collaboration solutions for a fast-paced technology startup. Jordan is actively seeking roles as a Project Manager, Senior Project Coordinator, Associate Project Manager, Implementation Manager, or Customer Success Specialist. She is open to both on-site and hybrid positions, with a preference for on-site roles within the Denver Metropolitan Area. employHER hopes that this feature will be of help in your job hunt journey and you'll find your next employment venture very soon. https://lnkd.in/gKFnf8xf . . . . . #opentowork #jobsearch #jobseeker #jobhunt #projectmanager #jordanernstes #employHER

Hiring is Slow right now guys... I just have to laugh and make a funny clip. Make light of the situation to easy the stress. Hiring Managers are taking longer to hire. Fewer positions for Candidates. If you are a candidate, do not take it out on yourself. It is just the market today. Markets change and our reality will be a better market in the future. So do not stress. I promise you. It will get better. #newconfig #itgetsbetter #hiring

🛑🚨Company Red Flags Candidates Should Pay Attention To: 🚨🛑 : 1. Too many job postings = remember back in 2021-2022 when many companies were hiring, welp most of those SAME companies had to do massive layoffs, don't join the rollercoaster. 2. Panel interviews from people who will be working at the same company as you, but not the same team. This is an unpopular opinion of mine, but I never understood why a non-tech person would be interviewing the new Engineer guy, then wonder why that person is "so shy." TWO DIFFERENT PERSONALITY types! Most of those backend developers are introverted. 3. A company that says they believe in "diversity & inclusion" but the top C-level is from one group. 4. Wide salary ranges, example: salary $65k-150k. This means they really want someone who will come in at $67k but has the experience of someone who cost $165k. 5. Companies with a long interview process = they don't know what they want and there are too many "cooks in the kitchen" to make a quick decision. Which red flags have you seen/noticed? #jobs #lookingforwork #hiring #jobdescriptions #candidateexperience

Nonprofit Professional connecting Healthcare/Behavioral Health Providers and Social Services to Improve Patient Outcomes | Customer Success + Implementation Strategist | Community Resource SME |
I love the power of community. Recently, a talented friend with 10+ years of Project Management experience lost his job due to layoffs. Our friend group rallied around him with resume tips, job leads/referrals and other advice, but interviews were slow to start. During our last group call I researched top companies in his area and found some amazing job openings matching his skills! He's super excited about the possibilities. Here's hoping he lands one of these roles soon! If you know of any remote Project Manager opportunities, please drop a comment below 👇 . Let's help him out! #projectmanagement #jobsearch #network #PowerofWork

if you’re actively interviewing for a job at a company that has done layoffs in the past 24 months you NEED to ask this question: “how has [insert company name here] rebuilt the trust of their current employees? additionally how is [insert company name here] fostering trust and sustainability with perspective candidates?” it will tell you everything you need to know in mere minutes!!!!!

Hiring in the technology sector is still highly competitive due to all of the layoffs from last year. So you get selected for an interview, how are you going to stand out from the stiff competition? Here are some recommendations: 👉 Go above and beyond when it comes to company research (check all socials, linkedin posts, look-over employee profiles, and even read product reviews). 👉 Test the product! Then test the competitor products. 👉 Prepare some analysis on what you feel the company is doing really well and then have one or two suggestions on how they could be more competitive (deliver this lightly so feelings don't get hurt). 👉 Create a portfolio of work samples that can be shared with interviewers. Nothing works better than showcasing past successes and giving tangible examples of your work. 👉 Verbally express your enthusiasm for the company, people and product 👉 Write thank you letters to the interviewers after each interview. You got this!

Colorado's #1 Most Baldest 👨🦲 #DevRecruiter → I recruit & hire "Uncommonly Good" Software Development Leaders, Founding Engineers & Sr, Lead, Staff & Principal Devs
I've got 3 of my senior+ dev roles where my client is discussing #offer details... all 3 candidates have multiple offers on the table. Still not sure what to make of this market as a whole, but 1 thing has been consistent even throughout the ups and downs of the last 18 months ... "Uncommonly good" developers are still getting multiple competing offers. Exceptional devs still hold the "leverage", even in this market. My advice to hiring managers and TA is the same as always: if you're competing for top talent: - move fast - be decisive - make your best offer first #devrecruiter
