While last week's Lake Tahoe Summit shone a national spotlight on all Tahoe conservation efforts, the theme focused on investing in transit, trails, and technology to improve transportation, equity, and sustainable recreation while supporting our communities. It was empowering to hear so many leaders echo support for priority projects in the Regional Transportation Plan. TRPA is leading an update of the plan this year with many opportunities for dialogue in our communities, particularly those that are traditionally underrepresented. 🌍 Happy World Environment Day! 🌍 Today, we honor the dedication and tireless efforts of conservationists worldwide who are committed to safeguarding our environment. Their work, often carried out in remote and challenging conditions, is vital for the health of our planet. At the Hempel Foundation, we are proud to champion these environmental heroes by fostering capacity building and knowledge sharing. 🤝 Last year, in collaboration with the Whitley Fund for Nature, we supported the Winner Network Development Program in Brazil. This initiative brought together #WhitleyAward winners from across Latin America, fostering an invaluable exchange of ideas and experiences. Listening to these conservationists' testimonials underscores a critical message: enhanced knowledge sharing among individuals and organizations can greatly amplify the effectiveness and pace of environmental impact. ✅ With this in mind, we are thrilled to support the continued commitment of the Whitley Fund for Nature to bring their partners together for shared learning. This year and next, we are funding their Winner Network Development Programs, bringing together extraordinary conservationists in other key regions. 🙌 A special thanks to our partner, Whitley Fund for Nature for their great work and thanks to IPÊ - Instituto de Pesquisas Ecológicas, for empowering conservationists and exemplifying organizational growth and development in Latin America and beyond.💚 #WorldEnvironmentDay #HempelFoundation #WhitleyFundForNature #Conservation #Sustainability #capacitybuilding #knowledgesharing #GenerationRestoration David Emmett Cláudio Pádua Suzana Padua Pedro Fruet Fernanda Abra

🌿 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝘆𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 🌿 We are excited to share our research focusing on the restoration of degraded forest landscapes in Leyte and Biliran Provinces! Our research is delving into how effectively local communities are engaging in these critical restoration efforts. Understanding their involvement is key to creating sustainable and impactful solutions. 🌱💪 Key aspects of our assessment include: •Effective local engagement needs a continuing process, not one-off action. •Poor devolution of power can be a barrier to effective local engagement. •Administrative interpretation of unclear tenure can affect local engagement. •Top-down decision-making can limit the achievement of local goals. By amplifying local voices and integrating their insights, we aim to foster more resilient and thriving forest ecosystems. A big thank you to all the community members, partners, and stakeholders who are contributing to this vital work! 🙌 Checkout the full publication at the link

Brooklyn Grange is an example of green urban community which used a space to recreation of community by means of green involvement. Green roofing and urban food require special location preparation and adaptation. Former industrial sites are best candidate location for green roofing. But beside obvious decarbonization efforts and energy effects new location community creation is notable aspect of sustainable growth in 21 century. You have heard how Europe sustainable corporate development Directive promotes socioeconomic involvement of corporations with citizens and local communities and in deployment of biodiversity preservation projects but just like reforestation these projects might involve green infrastructure growth of cities and communities. Young and old people say in this New York project have formed community and bridged a conventional generation gap. https://lnkd.in/dawb_uvB

At Moonjelly Foundation, we're pioneering a new era of conservation finance, inspired by the principles of trust and community. Our approach, reminiscent of the slow-food movement, focuses on building deep, personal relationships and reducing administrative burdens to empower grantees to focus on their crucial work. We're creating a Conservation Impact Network, connecting conservation organizations and community groups through trust-based relationships. This network is strengthened by our Pay It Forward Scaling, where partners support new members, enhancing our collective impact on conservation. Our efforts are already making waves in regions like the Cook Islands and Latin America, where traditional knowledge and conservation practices are being revitalized. We aim to grow an indigenously-led Conservation Impact Network, proving that trust and collaboration can lead to significant environmental progress. We invite you to be part of this transformative movement. Together, we can scale trust-based conservation to new heights. #ConservationFinance #Moonjelly #SustainableFuture #PayItForward
Funders often ask "How can you scale trust-based conservation when it requires so much time to build trust?" At Moonjelly Foundation, we are using Pay It Forward Scaling and Impact Network approaches to scale our work. Bryce Groark Linwood Pendleton 潘林木 Hans Henrik H.
