GAO’s water conductivity testers are devices that are used to measure the electrical conductivity of water. Conductivity is a measure of how well a solution can conduct electricity, and in water, this property is determined by the concentration of dissolved ions, such as salts and minerals. The meter may be a simple handheld device or a more advanced instrument with features such as automatic temperature compensation, data logging, and multiple ranges of measurement. High levels of conductivity in water can indicate the presence of dissolved salts and minerals which may be harmful to aquatic life or may affect the taste and quality of drinking water.

NPSH (Net Positive Suction Head) is a critical parameter in pump systems. It helps ensure pumps operate efficiently without issues like cavitation, which can damage the pump. Here's an explanation: What is NPSH? NPSH is the amount of pressure available at the pump's suction to avoid the liquid from vaporizing (boiling) within the pump. It is related to the liquid's vapor pressure and the pressure in the system. There are two main types: 1. NPSH Available (NPSHₐ): The actual pressure at the pump suction after accounting for losses in the suction line. 2. NPSH Required (NPSHᵣ): The minimum pressure required at the pump suction to avoid cavitation. This value is specified by the pump manufacturer. Why is NPSH Important? If NPSHₐ is less than NPSHᵣ, cavitation occurs. Cavitation is the formation and collapse of vapor bubbles inside the pump, leading to: Noise and vibrations Reduced pump efficiency Damage to the pump impeller
