Focus on the present! It’s not the destination, it’s the journey to get where you want, that’s what truly matters.
Kenny Trevino joined the San Antonio Spurs as a ball boy in 2012. He's worked his way up through the organization for over a decade, now the team's Head Video Coordinator. Next week, the 31-year-old will serve as the Spurs Summer League head coach. “My goal is to become a head coach someday… all I’m worried about now is being the best video coordinator.” #TheComeUp

Here at Marshall Sylver's Turning Point seminar in Las Vegas, I learned how to chop a board in two with my bare hand. I never thought I could do such a thing! It actually taught me, and reinforced, a lot about what I do as a mediator. When we mediate, yes, we can move mountains -- or chop boards -- not with brute force, but with strength intelligently applied. As you'll see in the video Liz Ryan took, Marshall taught us the magic -- prepare, then strike at just the right spot, in the center of the board going with the grain, and then follow through. So in mediation. It doesn't take brute force to settle cases. It takes an intense focus on the right spots, no more power than necessary, and following through to negotiate and settle the case. I'm learning a lot about success, and about myself, at this seminar. Have you ever had an experience like this? (Spoiler alert -- tomorrow, we will discuss fire-eating.)
My husband Jeff Kichaven is my hero. Look what he did today in Las Vegas at the Marshall Sylver Turning Point seminar.

No matter how many people say you can't do something, use that as inspiration to prove them wrong." 🦅 Eddie the Eagle's story is a testament to resilience and determination. Despite not being a natural sportsman, he chased his Olympic dream relentlessly. While he didn't win any medals in the 1988 Calgary Games, he captured the hearts of fans worldwide with his comically inept yet endearing performance as a British ski jumper. Key takeaways from Eddie's journey: - Dare to dream big, even if it seems crazy to others. - Tune out the naysayers and focus on your goals. - Be your own biggest supporter and advocate. - Practice relentlessly to hone your skills. - Persevere in the face of challenges and setbacks. - Surround yourself with a supportive network of people who believe in you.
