10 Random Acts of Canine-Inspired Kindness February 9 through 15 marks Random Acts of Kindness Week. It’s a social phenomenon gathering steam over the last few years and has resulted in many local news stories about strangers doing good deeds and creating chain reactions of downright nice behavior. It’s a worthwhile week, so how can dog lovers get in on the action and pay a nice thing forward? Here are 10 impulsive actions dog folks can take to get into the spontaneous spirit of Random Acts of Kindness Week. 1. Buy extra food If you already have to pick up pet food, why not throw a little extra in the cart and swing by a shelter on your way home? Some pet stores are helping people skip the second step by placing donation bins by the exit door. Put your extra bag of food in the bin, and your good deed for the day is done. Two days ago, while walking through a remote road in the jungle, we noticed a dog standing under a tree, looking lost and confused. Concerned, we asked a person nearby about the dog. He told us that just a while ago, a car had driven up to this spot. The driver opened the door, let the dog out, and then sped away, leaving the helpless animal behind. The dog stayed there, unsure of what to do, hoping its owner would come back. But the person knew, just like we did, that the dog had been abandoned, left to fend for itself in an environment it had never known. This isn’t an isolated incident. It happens to countless animals, and it’s a result of impulsive decisions and lack of commitment from people who once promised to care for these innocent lives. Pets are not objects to be discarded when they become inconvenient. If you bring a pet into your life, you are making a promise—to care, to love, and to provide for them. Abandoning them, especially in places where they can’t survive, is not just cruel; it’s a violation of that promise. Before adopting a pet, be sure you can give them the care, attention, and time they need. If you can’t make that commitment, it’s better not to adopt. Let’s spread the message loud and clear: "If you can't take responsibility, don't abandon. Pets are family, not a phase." #anumeenacare #nonprofits #abandon #dog #animal #pet #family #care #love #community #explore #community #ngo #volunteer

📣It’s great to unleash the news of our new client! 📣 We’ve been appointed by Biscuit Pet Care, a dog walking rewards app, which rewards dog owners for staying active with their furry friends. The free-to-use app rewards owners with Biscuits (points) for daily walks, routine pet care, and more. Biscuits can then be redeemed for vouchers at popular shops like Amazon, M&S, and Tesco, enjoyed for dining out, or even donated to environmental charities. 🐾 Our first project? Unveiling Biscuit’s survey on the nation’s favourite dog names and breeds, plus the walking habits of over 330,000 dogs. Check out the interactive map of Britain’s favourite breeds and names below, thanks to Jonathan Chadwick and the Daily Mail. This venture perfectly aligns with our core mission of promoting tech for good! 🎯 Big thanks to PRWeek for covering our new appointment on Friday. International Guide Dog Day provides an opportunity to acknowledge the incredible impact Guide Dogs have on the lives of those living with low or no vision, disability, or illnesses. This special day raises awareness about Guide Dog accessibility and celebrates the unique and powerful bond between a Guide Dog and their human companions. So what can you do to celebrate International Guide Dog Day today? 1. Learn about Guide Dogs - You most likely know that golden retrievers are great Guide Dogs but did you know that poodles and boxers can be Guide Dogs too? Did you know that Guide Dogs, Assistance Dogs, and even puppies in training are legally permitted to accompany their handlers virtually anywhere, including supermarkets, restaurants, shopping centres, public transport, hotels and rideshares, with only a few exceptions such as certain zoo enclosures and operating theatres? 2. Adopt a reclassified or retired guide dog - If you have the means, adopting a reclassified or retired Guide Dog can be a great way to support Guide Dog trainers. 3. Make a donation or volunteer your time - Donate to a Guide Dog organisation like Guide Dogs to West Australians (https://ow.ly/qGBi50RlSi2), or volunteer your time to help out Guide Dog organisations.

Our research shows that as the cost of dog ownership rises, so does the love and commitment from pet owners 💙 75% of dog owners are cutting back on their own spending to afford to care for the canine companions. With vet bills averaging £679 a year, many are turning to more affordable food or grooming their dogs at home. At Guide Dogs, we’re also feeling the strain, as the expense of caring for our life-changing guide dogs grows. “We know all too well the pressures people are facing to provide the best care for their dogs. At Guide Dogs, we shoulder all the major costs for our guide dogs throughout puppyhood and their working lives.” That’s why this October, we’re asking for your help with The Guide Dogs Puppy Appeal, so we can continue providing life-changing guide dog partnerships to those with sight loss 🐕🦺❤️ Whether you sponsor a puppy, make a donation, or shop with us, you can help ensure our guide dogs can keep changing lives. Head over to The Guide Dogs Puppy Appeal page to see how you can help 👉 bit.ly/3Cob3Lv #GuideDogs #PuppyAppeal #SupportGuideDogs #NonProfit #SightLossAwareness Image description - A yellow lab puppy having their teeth checked by a member of the breeding team.

Please help Good Dog Agility and Training Club replace their stolen agilty equipment! You may have seen this on the news: Last week, Good Dog Agility’s show trailer was stolen from a storage facility in Gilbert. In it was all the equipment they use for their meets. Fortunately, a woman who watched the 12 News story spotted the trailer in her neighborhood. The trailer has been returned to GDA, along with a lot of their equipment. However, the dogwalk, teeter base, timers, fencing, canopies, tools, and other items are still missing. Replacing these items will be expensive, especially the dog walk. The future of their big February meet is in doubt. For this reason, Good Dog Agility has created a GoFundMe campaign. If you love dog sports, or even if you’re just interested in it, please donate to the cause, and share this post or the GoFundMe link. Here’s the fundraiser: https://lnkd.in/gMSAszfi And don’t forget that GDA’s new class sessions in Chandler start MONDAY. If you’re interested, sign up now!
