Another shake up for a #big4 firm with the recent news that Deloitte are embarking on the largest internal restructuring in decades. The ultimate aim being to focus on clients and reduce internal projects and siloed operating groups. The major changes being: 1) Deloitte’s advisory business will be cut to three divisions from four. 2) The audit and assurance arm will remain as a standalone unit. 3) The consulting, financial advisory and risk advisory divisions will be brought into two newly created business units: strategy, risk and transactions; and technology and transformation.

Deloitte launches its biggest reorganization in a decade to cut costs amid expectations of a global slowdown. Under the plan, Deloitte's main business units, first introduced back in 2014, will be reduced from five arms to four. 1. Audit and assurance 2. Strategy, risk and transactions 3. Technology and transformation 4. Tax and legal This revamp is expected to take a year to complete in an effort to modernize and simplify Deloitte’s storefront and go-to-market strategy. ❗Deloitte UK Unveils New Strategy, Risk, and Transactions Advisory Service Line Amid Firm-Wide Reorganization Deloitte has been responding to a challenging market environment with a major internal restructuring, the first of its kind in over a decade. As part of this transformation, the firm has launched a new service line – Strategy, Risk, and Transactions Advisory (SR&TA) – which will officially go live on October 1st. This firm-wide reorganization (as mentioned in the Financial Times in March) aims to streamline operations, reduce complexity, and position the firm more effectively amid a broader market slowdown. A key focus of this new service-line is the Private Equity (PE) Strategy business, an area where Deloitte is making substantial investments. Under the leadership of Matthew Robb, along with senior stakeholders like Stéphane Baleston (NSE PE Lead), Oliver Hemming (UK Strategy and Business Design Lead), Louise Farrer (SR&TA PE Lead), James Clare (UK PE Lead), Emma Cox (Global Private Equity Leader), and a network of PE Strategy and Value Creation Partners across Europe, the firm is poised to execute its ambitious PE Strategy business plan - which naturally includes hiring at all levels. This initiative reflects Deloitte’s commitment to innovation and collaboration. However, it remains to be seen whether this approach will see momentum in the current market. Other Big Four firms have undertaken similar transformations with mixed results, and some of Deloitte’s own leaders have experience from these organizations.
