EnPV GmbH has just unveiled its groundbreaking n-type TOPCon solar cell using innovative self-aligned back-contact (SABC) technology! This new approach simplifies manufacturing by eliminating the need for traditional masking techniques, making production more efficient and cost-effective. With potential efficiency gains of over 0.5% at the cell level, these SABC cells promise to reduce costs to approximately €0.80/W, about 6% less than conventional TOPCon cells. EnPV is on track to launch a pilot line in 2025, eyeing opportunities beyond Europe in major solar manufacturing hubs like the USA, India, and China. This advancement could be a game-changer for the solar industry, enhancing production while driving down costs! 144 MW La Unión solar plant inaugurated in Colombia: https://lnkd.in/dkqq9ujx #SolarEnergy #Innovation #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #CleanTech #SolarTechnology

Chinese solar manufacturer HUASUN HJT has reported “record-breaking” efficiency figures for its mass-produced heterojunction technology (HJT) solar cells. Huasun claimed that its G12R and G12 HJT cells achieved 26.01% and 26.15% average energy conversion efficiency, respectively, this week. Moreover, the cells’ peak efficiencies hit 26.41% and 26.5% in mass production, Huasun claimed. The company did not identify any third-party confirmation of this efficiency rating. The cells were produced using “HJT 3.0 bifacial microcrystalline technology” and will be deployed in Huasun’s zero busbar (0BB) modules, which it unveiled earlier this year. The company said that 0BB technology allows for higher conversion efficiency, enhanced reliability and lower levelised cost of electricity (LCOE) for PV projects. Huasun has a multi-GW production capacity for HJT cells, and it is one of two leading manufacturers for the technology alongside Risen Energy. As the industry moves on from passivated emitter-rear contact (PERC) solar technology, the majority of manufacturers have opted for tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) production rather than HJT. This is partly because of the ease with which a PERC production line can be adapted for TOPCon.

HUASUN HJT Xuancheng Solar Cell Factory Achieves Milestone Monthly Production Output Exceeding Design Capacity The C4 Workshop at Huasun Xuancheng Solar Cell Factory has reached a significant milestone, achieving monthly outputs of 251.45MW in June and 252.36MW in July. These figures surpassed the initial designed capacity of 250MW per month, setting a new benchmark in the heterojunction (HJT) industry. This achievement marks the first instance in the photovoltaic industry where actual output of the HJT cells has exceeded the designed capacity. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the dedication and ingenuity of the entire C4 team at Huasun’s Xuancheng base. One of the most enduring topics in the PV industry is size standardisation, and now several leading companies have joined forces to take action. Last Friday, seven Chinese PV companies launched another joint initiative to standardise the size of n-type modules and the positioning of mounting holes. For the PV industry, the standardisation of module sizes has become an important driving force for development. In 2021, the “M10 Series Module Product Standardisation Consensus” defined 2465mm x 1134mm as the standard size. This forward-looking and innovative standardisation move has provided strong support for the coordinated progress of the entire PV industry chain. Currently, this standard size has been widely adopted and applied, and its related performance advantages have been effectively verified in the market and recognised across the industry. Modules adopting the standard size of 2465mm x 1134mm have very distinct advantages. They can provide higher power output and lower system costs, making the overall economic performance of PV power plants more optimal within the same installation space. Against this backdrop, seven PV companies including JA Solar, Jolywood Solar, GCL System Integration, DAS SOLAR, Yingli Solar, Aiko Energy and Astronergy Solar jointly advocated the unification of 2465mmx1134mm in n-type module size standards and the position of mounting holes. The consensus is as follows: -Module size: 2465mm x 1134mm -Longitudinal hole spacing along the longer module side: 790mm (hole diameter Φ7mm * 10mm)/1200mm (hole diameter Φ9mm * 14mm)/1600mm (hole diameter Φ9mm * 14mm) In a joint statement, the seven companies said: “The achievement of this consensus and the release of the initiative are not only about the unification of module specifications, but also an effort made for the healthy development of the PV industry.
