Taking some time for yourself over the next month? There’s so much talk of work/life balance these days, but the statistics are still very one sided. 88% of UK employees have experienced burnout in the last 2 years. 1 in 3 people feel they don’t have a good work life balance. 50% of all employees who switched jobs in 2022, did so to achieve a better work life balance. 82% of Brits do not take a full lunch break, with two thirds of workers eating lunch at their desk most days. Things have got to change. Here’s our top 3 tips to ensure you’re taking a proper break on your upcoming summer holiday and not just thinking about work. Set boundaries for your phone. Yes, we know this one can be hard. But airplane mode isn’t just designed for the time between take off and landing. Be sure to disconnect and be where your feet are. Whether that’s chasing your kids on the beach or relaxing and reading a book in the sun while sipping a beer. Recognise that being unproductive is productive. Sounds cliche, but it’s true. You need to actually allow yourself to do something you enjoy, whether that’s hitting a session at the gym in the hotel, going for a morning swim, having a lie in til 11am, whatever it is, cut yourself some slack. Now is the time to do it. Get out of your head and into your body. Whatever kind of holiday or break you’re going on, the benefits of physical activity go beyond just looking good in the mirror. Take some time to break a sweat and move your body. You’ll feel better for it and be much more present. What boundaries do you put in place to ensure you’re properly taking a break from work on your holidays? #worklifebalance #burnout

Work life balance? Last month, a CEO friend reached out with a problem he needed help resolving. It was a weekday, and I was looking forward to going home to rest so I promised to help him out over the weekend, which was just around the corner. He replied with a simple "okay," but I sensed a hint of reluctance in his voice. I probed further, asking if everything was alright. He said, "Actually, I don't feel comfortable working on weekends." When I inquired why, he explained, "I've made a conscious decision to avoid weekend work. I'm trying to cultivate a healthier routine and avoid becoming a workaholic especially now, while I don't have so much responsibilities, I see it as an opportunity to prioritize my #worklifebalance." His perspective struck a chord with me, allowing me to reflect on my own approach to work-life balance. It reminded me of another friend who staunchly refrains from work-related tasks on weekends unless it's truly urgent. So, dear #LinkedIncommunity, I pose a question: Is achieving work-life balance achievable, or is it merely an elusive myth? I'm eager to hear your thoughts in the comments. Thank you ⭐ . Do have a splendid Thursday! #WorkLifeBalance #HealthyHabits #SelfCareInBusiness #ProfessionalWellbeing #LifeOutsideWork #BalanceIsPossible #thursday

⚖️ WORK/LIFE BALANCE isn’t shutting your laptop at 5:01 p.m. and going home to relax. In fact, for most people if this is what you do, you will end up feeling unfulfilled and will not make the progress in your career and life that you should. For me, work/life balance is being able to pick and choose as well as meet the demands of both you work and life. And if you have something going on in your personal life that requires attention, you should put down your work and focus on life. You should give the important people the attention they need, including yourself and your mental health. The opposite is also true. If your work requires you to do more than your contracted hours, then you should flex and give your work the attention that it needs to be a success. For example, last night I had to get something over the line and it took me until 10 p.m. I’m not pretty shattered, so I’ll find some time to take off to get back on track. Perhaps the term should be work/life flexibility, rather than work/life balance to avoid misinterpretation. Finding balance or flexibility isn’t easy and the biggest challenge with this is when both your work and your life is tough, with demands on your time and your headspace. In this scenario, there is no easy answer other than hard, work, grit, and determination, as well as being honest and open with your work colleagues to share the challenges that you are facing. For anyone who feels that they aren’t quite getting their work life balance right, good news - nobody else is either! The biggest thing we need to do is be aware of trying to find balance and recognising when we need to divert our attention to either our lives inside or outside of work. Best of luck in finding your balance and remember that flexibility is often a better term and may help you think about this entirely differently #WorkLifeBalance #BusinessOwner #MentalHealth #Mindset

Balancing Work and Personal Life It's important to have a good balance between work and personal life, especially when working from home. Set Clear Boundaries 🛑 Tell your family and friends your work hours so they know when not to disturb you. Let your coworkers know when you’re available too. This way, work and personal time don't mix. Create a Daily Schedule 🗓️ Make a daily plan. Start work at the same time each day and take regular breaks. Have a set time to stop working. Using a calendar or planner can help you stay organized. Have a Workspace 🖥️ Find a specific spot in your home just for work. This helps keep work separate from your personal life. When you're done working, leave that space to relax. Take Care of Yourself 🌟 Make time for things that keep you healthy, like exercising, eating well, and sleeping enough. Feeling good helps you handle work stress better. Enjoy Your Hobbies 🎨 Do activities you love, like reading, drawing, or playing sports. Doing fun things helps you relax and feel happy. Spend Time with Family and Friends 👨👩👧👦 Make time for your loved ones. Have family dinners, play games, or video call friends. Being with people you care about makes you feel good. Say No When You Need To 🚫 If you have too much to do, it's okay to say no to more work or activities. Don't take on too much. This way, you can do your best with the things you already have. Take Breaks and Vacations 🏖️ Take short breaks during the day to rest. Also, plan vacations to fully relax away from work. Resting is important for staying healthy and happy. Ask for Help 🆘 If balancing work and life feels hard, ask for help. Talk to a friend, family member, or counselor. Many companies also offer support programs for employees. Check and Adjust Your Routine 🔄 Regularly check how your routine is working. Make changes if needed to keep a good balance. Stay flexible and find what works best for you. Keep a good balance between work and personal life. This will help you stay happy and do well at work while enjoying your personal time. #WorkLifeBalance #RemoteWork #HealthcareProfessionals #SelfCare #ProductivityTips #WorkFromHome #MentalHealthMatters #HealthyLifestyle #EmployeeWellbeing #TimeManagement #ProfessionalGrowth #RemoteTeam #PositiveMindset #WorkLifeHarmony #StressManagement

The perfect work-life balance. The weekend's almost here, and I'm just randomly thinking about whether a perfect work-life balance truly exists. Is it : •50/50 •60/40 •70/30 •80/20 or maybe even •90/10? I think it's less about the numbers and more about giving each aspect of life the attention it deserves. But hey, there are also times when due to an imminent deadline the balance may tilt, 90/10😬. If that's just for a short season though then it's okay. A 90/10 balance can't simply be a lifestyle. Yikes! For me, most times I make a conscious effort to be fully present at home leaving work behind when I walk through the door. My family deserves that time, just like my work deserves my focus during office hours. But let’s be honest—sometimes achieving that 'right' balance can be incredibly challenging, with unexpected demands and distractions pulling you in multiple directions. Today I have no wise words about how to achieve the perfect work-life balance, if it does exist. So I'd like to learn from you: Is there such a thing as a perfect-work life balance? How do you maintain a healthy/harmonious work-life balance? When does it become an unhealthy work-life balance? What's the right tilt? Cos honestly some days I'm unable to achieve any balance and things just seem a bit off-kilter🫢... I want to be able to make my work-life super enjoyable and not be up by 3 on a weekend thinking about work😩🙄 ➡️Seniors, how do you do it?- please help ASAP ♻️Repost to your network, someone might have the answer I need. . . PS: 🖼️ Can you guess what African country this is in my picture?😄 #worklifebalance #corporategirlies

Work-Life Balance We live in an era where the line between work and life has become increasingly blurred. The constant ping of notifications, the pressure to be always available, and the relentless pursuit of success can leave us feeling overwhelmed and drained. It's time to reclaim our sanity and prioritize well-being. #Worklifebalance isn’t about achieving perfection; it’s about finding harmony. It's about realizing that you are more than just your job title. It's about nurturing your #relationships, pursuing your #passions, and allowing yourself the space to #recharge. 🧘♂️ 🧘♀️ So, how do we navigate this delicate balance? It starts with setting boundaries. Learn to say no without guilt. Unplug from work during your off-hours. Prioritize tasks and delegate when possible. Remember, it's okay to take #breaks, to recharge, and to put yourself first. 🤗 Self-care is not selfish; it's essential. Whether it's through exercise, meditation, hobbies, or simply spending quality time with loved ones, find what rejuvenates you and make it a priority. Crucially, when you're at work, give it your undivided attention. Immerse yourself in your tasks, and avoid the temptation to constantly check personal messages or plan your leisure time. Similarly, when on vacation, truly disconnect and recharge. This commitment to #focus during work hours will empower you to enjoy your time off guilt-free. How do you prioritize work-life balance in your fast-paced life? Share your tips and experiences in the comments below. 👇 Let's create a supportive community where we can learn and grow together.

Healthy work-life balance means maintaining harmony between your work and personal life. It involves managing your time and energy to fulfil both professional and personal commitments while prioritising self-care and well-being. Here are some tips to help you achieve this balance: 🌳 Give yourself short breaks: Take regular breaks throughout the day and at least half an hour away from your desk at lunch. Spend some time outside if possible. 🏖️ Take some time off: Use your entitled holidays. If things get overwhelming, a few days off or a long weekend can help you feel refreshed and even boost productivity in the long run. 🎨 Focus on your life outside work: Nurture relationships with people outside of work and develop interests and skills unrelated to your job. This helps distinguish your personal life from your work life. 📝 Develop end-of-day habits: Finish your workday by tidying your workspace or making a to-do list for tomorrow. This can help you switch off from work, especially when working from home. #WorkLifeBalance #SelfCare #Productivity #Wellbeing #HealthyHabits #WorkFromHome #PersonalGrowth #BreaksMatter

Do you think that work life balance is out of reach? I used to think that. It seemed impossible to juggle a fast-growing teenager, my company Influence Solutions, along with two school-going precocious kids...AND do all the other things that made me feel alive. When the pandemic first hit, the lines between work and life blurred even more, and soon the treadmill of constant work plus juggling was impacting my health (physical and mental). Thankfully, hitting rock bottom is always a great catalyst to reset, recharge and make new choices. I'm sharing these 11 golden rules that have helped me climb out of the abyss. They are strong reminders stuck to my office wall and I trust they will be helpful to you getting the work-life balance you desire too. My favourite is the first tip - Eat that Frog, and that doesn't just pertain to work. It has helped me to prioritise my health by scheduling my workout first thing in the morning, for at least 3 times a week. What's scheduled gets done. Which tips are your favourites? Love to hear from you, and do share other tips that work for you. Happy hump day! #Worklifebalance #inspiration #productivity #LinkedInAsia
