This week's opportunity is the Healthcare Environmental Cleaning at Munson Army Health Center (MAHC), Ft Leavenworth, KS. I am bringing these opportunities to show the type of information that I have experienced. These also give me the ability to implement skills that I have learned, in this case tying research with artificial intelligence. In this post, I used Midjourney, a text-to-image, artificial intelligence image creation application. The picture you see was the result of my prompt. I am open to work, open to network, and others. #LinkedIn #ArtificialIntelligence #DigitalMarketing #CareerDevelopment #ImageGeneration #ProfessionalDevelopment #AI #Technology #Innovation #jobs #business #recruitment #jobsearch #govcon #opentowork #federal #hreperts #hrcommunity #openforhire #loudouncountyva #federalgovernment #hr #jobs

#Yuge #VeteranNews In my opinion, every #Veteran deserves a good-paying job. Yet many of us have been denied jobs exactly because we ARE #Veterans. Research Shows #MilitaryService Can Hurt Some Job Seekers’ Prospects In experiments, the public and even experienced managers perceived #VeteranJobCandidates as agentic and unemotional Read more at these links: https://lnkd.in/ghbQfGXA I know people who have been denied good job opportunities simply because they are Veterans. Why is that? Maybe some of the reasons are in the Duke paper listed and in the 9-page #DHS Report about Veterans: Right Wing Extremism - Report by Dept of Homeland Security 2009 https://lnkd.in/gzjVNfzu April 2009 === DHS Releases Report on Internal Review of Domestic Violent Extremism https://lnkd.in/gWeiMAbJ March 11, 2022 === Report to the Secretary of Homeland Security Domestic Violent Extremism Internal Review Observations, Findings, and Recommendations https://lnkd.in/gZch_EP5 March 11, 2022 === About being a Veteran It's a great concept, but here's the really #UnpleasantTruth about all that: Except for "Friends" on Facebook, and of course other #USMilitary Veterans, I have never gotten one ounce of respect or gratitude or consideration for my service in the U.S. Air Force. It's commendable that there has been a 15% increase in the number of employees. However, it may be prudent to reconsider the decision to slow down the hiring until effective strategies are devised to retain these new personnel. Simply increasing the workforce, while doing nothing to change the root cause of the problem (being overworked and underpaid), will result in continual turnover and loss of institutional knowledge. So maybe keep hiring until the root issue is resolved. https://lnkd.in/eht9Mi-E #veterans #wvdva #usmc #wv #army #disability #va #vfw #americanlegion

Senior Military Engagement Specialist | Public Speaker | Military | Diversity, Equity & Inclusion | Army Veteran | #DoD SkillBridge Expert | Branding | Recruiting Strategist |
Asking for help from my network! I am trying to find reliable statistics on post-military employment retention rates but am struggling to find unbiased sources. I have seen numbers ranging from 50% to 65% of veterans leaving their post-military jobs after 1-2 years, but cannot find the sources of these stats. Are these numbers even tracked? I am looking for assistance in finding reliable data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics or the VA. Can anyone help? Thank you in advance for any insight you can provide! #veterans #employment #statistics #research

Veterans have a strong edge in federal government employment. If you are a disabled veteran you receive a 10-point preference. It doesn't matter if you are 30% disabled or 20% or under 10%. You get a 10-point preference. But you STILL need to be qualified for the job. How do signal that you are qualified? Your resume. #Veterans only make up 25% of the federal government. Most people have no clue what an E-5 or O-3 is. Do not expect the person reading your resume to understand military jargon. If you are a non-veteran and think this is unfair... Then focus on the direct hiring authority. #governmentjobs #govtjobs #hiring

I Help Veteran-Focused Organizations Overcome What & How Roadblocks While Saving Time & Money | American-Dream Advocate | Veteran | Creator Accelerator
Veteran employment increased in October Great news as we enter #Veterans Month. The number of Veterans employed last month increased significantly. Increases in November: - Veteran Men employed +50K - Veteran Women employed +20K Benchmark: The total increase in employment is more than the capacity of 17 National Football League (NFL). The Bureau of Labor Statistics divides #Veteran employment data by periods of service. The data for Gulf War-Era I Women Veterans (served from August 1990-August 2001) deserves attention. In October, there were 297K of these Veterans in the workforce and all 297K had jobs. This results in an unemployment rate of zero percent for this group. One important question for a Veteran-focused researcher: What is it about these Veterans that they are such valued employees? The overall Veteran unemployment rate fell to 2.7 percent, which meant that 229K Veterans who wanted to work didn’t find jobs. Yet opportunities abound. These industries had more job openings in October than they did in September: - Transportation - Utilities - Retail Trade - Leisure and hospitality - Accommodation and food services For those looking, job openings increased in firms with less than 50 employees. My employment posts always get comments about Veteran underemployment. I continue to believe more research needs to be done in this area. One explanation for this could be that companies can’t match Veterans skills to the appropriate position or level. Below in a comment, I link to a brief conversation with Human Resource professional Sheila Harmeyer who explains how Veterans can use story telling to connect with the right opportunity. What else explains Veteran underemployment and what can we do to reduce this? #VHV | Veterans Helping Veterans #Jobs #Careers
