IMMO the hype is now just behind as - stocks valuation market crash has begun - yesterday promising and disruptive startupers started being merged … but most significative backsteps (trend) from my point of view is that actually valuable features are daily disappearing from esperated game changers & leaders platform free plans … Off course, it will progressively become a commodity and will deliver some great enhancements in our day2day (at least workplace) lives but it is not yet the « SciFi like » revolution. New post out today by me on OMERS Ventures' News page about how the current moment in AI probably represents the start of a major paradigm shift on the interaction side. What I think, in general, is that what we've come to assume are widespread defaults in how we use computers could actually have been just a transitional phase to something very different to come in our next computing age. Almost a year has passed since the apocaliptical call for a six-month #ai #moratorium was put out there with much fanfarre and headlines. https://lnkd.in/ggQm3QuB As far as I know, the earth is still spinning and we are not yet living in the matrix, I hope. Arguably, we are better off by not having artificially blocked or paused competition. Large open-source #llm models came out, and much fascinating work started this last year. Several initiatives, technologies, and #startups are emerging from LLMs and AI. I was very recently invited to join the advisory board of one of such large-scale LLM-based startups - it is amazing what they are realistically trying to achieve, which would have been crazy a year ago. Even legislation has evolved. Whether that was in spite of, or because of the debate created by the moratorium call, that is up for debate. We might never really know, but in the end of the day, there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic, at least on the AI front.
