This goes for any position you may be hiring for. A great resume helps, but oftentimes, it’s the right person that makes you choose one applicant over another. Who will fit with the team? Who can handle the day to day needs? Who will bring something new or come in with passion? Take a chance. Often, it’s the best decision you’ll make. #leadershipdevelopment #hiringtips #teamworkmakesthedreamwork #takeachance

The term #leader and #leadership have become relevant over the past decade. More and more people, from small to large, are arguing about what qualities a leader should have, and what the difference is between a leader and a manager. At the end, both of them manage people. Even in #iso #standards, wherever there is a conversation about the implementation of any system, a prerequisite for success is having a proper leader. Numerous articles tell us to hire the leaders for their skills and motivation, but let’s face the reality. 80% of companies still look at the CV’s and evaluate the candidates based on their qualifications and experience. Would love to hear your feedback about this.

Believe in people! True leaders can and will create successful teams also outside their comfort zone. Bosses will not. One of the main differences between a leader and a boss in my opinion. Also means that, depending on what type of person a company is looking for, recruiting procedures will have to be adjusted to determine future potential rather than current expertise. Isn’t this one of the biggest challenges in recruiting?

Hire Leaders for what they can do, not what they have done: We fully embrace this view at Alvarium Consulting SAS not only because we believe in equal chances, but also because I as founder of a small business am a living proof that it is when you push yourself outside your comfort zone that you perform best, beyond what is expected of you-and you may expect of yourself! We are lucky to be trusted by the best in the industry, and those firms and individuals are always looking beyond and outside of the box to outperform. Our Neanderthal minds are made to be stretched and thrive in new situations and complex problem solving. Furthermore, this mindset has many hidden benefits such as promoting diversity of people and ideas, empowering new leaders with confidence and thinking outside the box, all of which is backed by numerous studies including this one. The Peter Principle can be stopped! Do come and discuss this with us! #nextgenerationleaders #diversify #newbusiness #legalexperts #equality #financeexpert #hiringprocess 🐝

This article is a reminder that the most effective leaders may not always be the ones with a track record of success in similar roles, but those who possess the vision, drive, and agility to navigate and lead through complexity and change. It challenges the traditional approach of promoting based on past accomplishments, underscoring the importance of recognizing potential over experience. Definitely worth the read. #hbr #leadership

Values Based Executive Search - Transformation and Change. Innovating the way our clients hire the best talent
All too often I see organisations trying to hire based on what an individual has previously done rather than what they can achieve in the future. The secret to selecting great leaders is to predict the future, not reward the past. Such individuals may have a very different profile from those who have succeeded previously, as well as from those who are succeeding right now. Organisations are expected to grow as fast as the tech surrounding them and must be in a constant state of transformation to keep pace. They need to become comfortable thinking outside of the box and hire individuals who think differently rather than just "fit the culture" and place them into leadership roles. This ensures diversity of thought and ideas rather than clones. Often the youngest, most agile, and most confident people turn into incredible leaders, even though they may not yet have the track record to back up their potential. I'm looking forward to working with more firms this year that want to hire on potential, diverse thinking and an innovative mindset rather than hiring the "safe" candidate who has been there and done everything before.... What's been done before is becoming less and less relevant. Here's to hiring for the future. #futureleaders #futureinnovation #futurethinking #legalinnovation #legaltech

Assessing someone's capabilities for a leadership role involves looking at their past achievements and body of work. However, on the flip side, when you're seeking leadership qualities in others, the 'Pygmalion effect' kicks in. This effect is all about how your faith and expectations in others can genuinely bring out their merits. Think of it like this: Imagine a manager who sees great potential in a team member and believes they have what it takes to be a leader. This manager's high expectations and encouragement create a positive environment that allows the team member to thrive and showcase their leadership abilities. The belief in their potential becomes a catalyst for their success—a true reflection of the powerful impact of the Pygmalion effect in leadership dynamics.
