To my friends in the Finnish Talent Acquisition space, I would love some updated insight on this challenging market. For junior software engineer roles, what specializations are most in demand? I know a few years ago web development was the easiest to find junior roles for. Is that still the case now? Or are other specializations more promising at the moment? #Finland #TalentAcquisition

The article from BetaKit highlights three US companies offering high-paying software engineering positions to Canadian talent[1]. This trend is driven by the increasing demand for software engineers across North America, with projections indicating a need for 44,300 additional software engineers and designers in Canada by 2031[1]. Key points from the article: 1. Netflix is hiring a senior software engineer specializing in Linux, with a salary range of $100,000 to $300,000 per year[1]. 2. TradeStation is seeking a principal software engineer/tech lead for API development, offering $170,000 to $190,000 USD annually[1]. 3. Credit Acceptance is looking for a senior software engineer in originations, with a salary range of $150,500 to $222,500 USD per year[1]. These opportunities reflect the growing trend of US companies tapping into the Canadian tech talent pool, offering competitive salaries that are approaching US levels. The article notes that while Canadian software engineer salaries are increasing, they still lag behind their US counterparts[1]. The high demand for software engineers is evident in both countries, with the US Bureau of Labor Statistics projecting a 25% increase in demand from 2021 to 2031[1]. This surge in demand has led to rising salaries, with Glassdoor reporting an average salary of $115,802 USD for software engineers in the US[1]. For Canadian software engineers, these opportunities present a chance to work for major US companies while potentially remaining in Canada, as all three positions mentioned are remote. This trend could have significant implications for the Canadian tech industry and talent retention. #Repost #Reposted #JustinoMora #TechJobs #SoftwareEngineering #RemoteWork Reasoning and key factors considered: 1. Over 50% of software developers are open to opportunities if they come their way. Why is that? Software development is a growing market and is still has not seen it's peek, so it's natural, that software developers search for opportunities that are more appealing financially and in terms of flexibility. Aside from salary, flexibility is the top reason developers consider leaving their current jobs, as it offers more work/life balance and remote work, which allows developers to turn to their hobbies.

Helping Startups Scale - Founder of Full Scale, CTO for 20 years, Bootstrapped a company to a 9 figure exit, Podcast host
Silicon Valley developers are better than any developers in the world because they get paid more. FALSE! I posted how I can hire software developers for $30 an hour, and everyone immediately says the developers are terrible. 90% of software developers aren't in the United States. The cost of living around the world is much different in Silicon Valley than it is Kansas City, the Philippines, Latin America, or Africa. Do you know what isn't different? The raw intellect of people or their access to the internet to learn. They just need an opportunity. Remote work has opened it up like never before to hire global talent. You have the same problem I did 5 years ago. Everyone I talked to had a horror story of doing software development offshore in primarily India. I started my own company Full Scale in the Philippines to ensure we hired top talent and did it the right way. 300 employees and 5 years later, I can confirm we did. There is amazing talent everywhere if you know how to find it. Need help? Full Scale can help!
