3 reasons why the position "Senior Designer" has been diluted over the years. → Designers want to move up to the career ladder quickly to get the bigger salary that comes with promotion. Resulting in taking on senior roles when they are not ready for it or have not truly developed as a designer. → The amount of Senior Designers leaving the industry (due to a lack of career progression) has fast-tracked a lot of mid-weight designers to the senior level when, again, they aren’t ready for it. → Start up brands will offer "senior" titles to less experienced candidates as a way of attracting them to the company. IMO Senior designer = time in the industry x evidence of delivering projects to a high level. I would say you need 8-10 years experience to become a senior design. ✌️ #design #Title #copied #Graphic #Designer #Senior #level #IMO #years #career #hire

Not all design careers are created equal. While some pay well, others don’t even come close to compensating designers for their skill and experience. Graphic designers who earn more than average have one commonality, other than being great designers. They are all specialists. They have deep knowledge and expertise in their field and in the software they use to create their designs. These specialties in turn command much higher salaries than an average, generalist graphic designer earns. Unsurprisingly, these highest-paying design careers are also those in the highest demand right now, which also increases the competition and incomes for designers in these fields. So that you can do your best, most creative work without sacrificing your income, I’ve put together a list of 8 of the top-paying design careers out there today. https://bit.ly/3WaKXrc

Graphic Designer facing issues during their interview 1- Some employers seem unsure about what they're looking for in a designer. 2- They often lack knowledge about design software, leading to unrealistic demands. 3- There's confusion between graphic design and motion graphics roles. 4- Some employers mistakenly expect UI/UX design skills from graphic designers. 5- Asking for unpaid tests on branding or packaging projects is unfair and undervalues our time. It's a big red flag when employers don't respect a designer's time, especially considering the effort put into preparing portfolios for assessment. Just as we respect their time, we expect the same in return. #graphicdesigner #HR #Hiring #Recruitment
