I'm a huge believer in advocating for yourself within the workplace and I don't think enough people do this! For some, it may seem easier to just move on, look for a new role ,and even leave a company than to have these types of conversations beforehand. 😕 Make sure you are advocating for yourself within your role! 💪 Are you being challenged? Is there something missing within your position? Are there things you wish you had in your role? Is there something you aren't happy with within your role? You have the ability to think about these things and start crucial conversations around these topics to help your career advance. ✔ You have the power to change your career ,but what are you going to do with it? 🤔

“ I am surrounded by positive and supportive colleagues and friends in my workplace…” 🥹 Now this ☝️ is what you want to feel when you think about your job and company culture. I know there’s an (old school) belief that when you’re in work you should try and leave your personal worries at the door and just focus on work… Well, it’s pretty impossible sometimes when you have a lot going on personally let’s be honest!! ☹️ It’s so important to have that support network around you from colleagues, your Manager and the business as on occasion you might just need to lean on them for a little more support and understanding. ❌ It doesn’t mean you’re failing in work. ❌It doesn’t mean you’re not good at your job. ❌It doesn’t mean you’ll get the sack. A good employer will recognise that we’re all human and will do whatever they can to support you through those tough times 🥰 If you’re feeling like you’re in a supportive company and have colleagues you can confide in and support you, that’s brilliant and I’m so pleased 😁 If you’re not so sure, please know, that there are so many brilliant employers out there who live and breathe their values and culture and would absolutely value you as an employee. Just a little thought for a Tuesday ☺️ #workplacesupport #colleagues #valued #supportive

So it’s back to school and back to work this week … how excited are you (.. or not)? According to the latest Gallup 2024 State of the Global Workplace “Voice of the Employee” report, only 23% of employees describe themselves as engaged in their current role. I’m going to be direct here: If you’re one of the majority - that’s 77% who are not fully engaged- isn’t it time to consider doing something about it? And I don’t mean just setting up a job search and seeing if anything catches your eye … honestly, that’s a long, slow and depressing route to your next role. Because the fact is that 45% of my clients land jobs that were never advertised! How I can help: We start with doing a full audit of your skills and experience, your aspirations and your values — and we take it from there. Some people discover that they’re actually in the perfect role — but that they need to make some changes. Some people decide to start working on a Plan B together — so you know what you want and how to get there when the time is right. And others decide it’s the right time to gently and carefully put their plan into action with the support of someone (maybe me🤣) who can keep them on track, keep motivation high, and be there with guidance every step of the way, as needed. The 45% of my my clients who find jobs that were never advertised completely bypassed the depressing “applied for 20 jobs and never heard anything back” situation. September is the perfect time to start thinking about what’s next. If you’d like to know more about how I can help, book a call or DM me - I’d love to hear from you. #jobhunt #executivecoach #careercoach

They don't care. 🚀 Not one bit. When looking for a new role, most people don't care about fancy brand messaging, the pretty job site, or carefully crafted job ads. What's on every job seekers mind? 3 simple questions: 1. What's the culture honestly like? 2. Will there be 'true' work-life balance? 3. Will this be meaningful work that I can grow from? ...oh, and most importantly, how much will it pay? We need to normalise having these conversations. Agree or disagree?

lessons I've learnt on my career journey so far: ↪ don't let ambition take over your life: life is messy and prioritizing more important things matters. you can come back to a career but you don't want to resent missing out on major life events and experiences. ↪ find your people and build your community: it's never too late. a job has your back for as long as you work there, but community has you for life. ↪ over-index on sharing your failures: people learn more from failures than successes- not to mention appreciate the authenticity and vulnerability. ↪ amplify your influence through shared insights: true wisdom combines knowledge, experience, and understanding to guide thought and action. its real power emerges when we pass it on to others. ↪ master the art of refusal: career growth demands selective commitment. decline opportunities that don't align with your passions, values, life mission, or goals. by rejecting what doesn't serve you, you create space for what does. ↪ recognizing self-awareness is multi-layered: it extends beyond self-perception to understanding your impact on others. it reveals the interconnectedness of your interactions, others' perceptions, your attitude, and your responses. cultivating this awareness enhances all aspects of your interpersonal dynamics. ↪ embrace and grow to love the concept 'you know what you know and you don't know what you don't know'. and work with people that feel the same way. there is a reason we all have different skillsets and capabilities: so we can round each other out and complement one another. ↪ guard your most important asset: your time. nobody else will look out for it and its no less and no more important than anyone else's. respecting your time and other people's matters. #careeradvice #hr

Creative Marketing Executive | Brand Narrative and Visual Storytelling | 360 Campaign Development | Content Strategy and Cross-Platform Promotion | Leading with Emotional Intelligence
I took some time off of LinkedIn recently, I love this community but I had started to doom scroll daily and it’s imperative I focus on finding positive environments at the moment. Which leads me to this week, which was the most crazy stressful but incredibly empowering week I’ve had in years. I’ve led branding for many, many brands at the Fortune 500 level which was rewarding, but nothing like this. Anyone that knows me knows that I have my family’s back, no matter what. This week my Dad was back in the hospital for what feels like the 100th time, and I had a new project to start on while meeting new team members. I was able to spend hours with my Dad every day ensuring he stayed strong, while also handling the responsibilities of my new role. By the end of the week, not only were my parents appreciative for the support but I’ve also made meaningful connections with new team members and put together a badass brand positioning and creative strategy in just a few days. How? I was able to effectively manage my own time. Time for giving emotional support, time for emotional healing and time for strategic thinking and creative planning. That’s what made this week so empowering. Finding ways to balance all of life’s responsibilities, no matter how stressful they are, and being able to show up for everyone I needed to. I would be remiss to not mention my wife too, having an amazing partner who is there for you is essential to personal success. It’s funny how there are so many parallels between personal and professional success, isn’t it? #personalgrowth #empowerment #emotionalintelligence #lifebalance #jobseeker #hr #jobs #jobhunt #creativemarketing #yournextfavoritecoworker

Transforming careers for Ph.D.'s Engineers & Researchers Through My RRAPID Framework | | Founder Dynamic Professionals Hub | Scientist (Ex-GE) | Speaker @ IITs & corporates
"Who gifts a shoe to an employee on their last day? I couldn't stop laughing when I saw my farewell gift, because in my head it sounded like, 'Okay, we've tolerated you enough, and now you'd better get lost.' I also blurted that out.😂 As you read this, I’m sure you can catch the vibe of this picture. The point is, you will rarely work alone in any company. The quality of the people we work with deeply affects the quality of our work life, which we tend to take home with us. From swanky corporate offices to bureaucratic government settings, I’ve seen that a company’s culture plays a significant role in our growth. However, even in a great company culture, being in the wrong team can hugely impact your professional growth Before accepting that offer, cross-check the team dynamics. A toxic workplace with a great salary is like eating a healthy salad drenched in sugary dressing – it defeats the purpose. You know what I mean, right? In an interesting twist, I initially thought the paper bag contained Metro shoes, but it turned out to be a handbag😉. I Worked with a bunch of wacky scientists who had a unique sense of humor & gave me the freedom to pursue projects my way. Are you in the right company of teams that support you within your company? How do you find that out before joining ? Eager to learn from your expereince!! #rimadey #phd #researcher #culture P.S A quick tip, Informationl interviews is one of the ways to learn about company culture.

Silence can often feel like a barrier to progress. A closed mouth can lead to a closed destiny. It's crucial not to stay silent but to actively seek ways to open doors to new possibilities. Whether in your career journey, job search endeavors, educational pursuits, or professional endeavors as an employee, speaking up is the key to unlocking growth and advancement. I reflect back on a poignant instance during an annual meeting at a former company, where an opportunity to share our concerns arose. I mustered the courage to voice my salary struggles, given the daily commute challenges I faced. By bravely sharing my concerns and advocating for a fair adjustment, not only did I secure an increment but also sparked a ripple effect of transparency and empowerment. It was heartening to see a colleague resonate with my experience, underscoring the significance of raising our voices. The realization also spread that many shared similar hurdles, but it was the act of vocalizing that sparked the wheels of progress In the realms of job search, education, and professional life, the power of speaking up cannot be understated. It's through open dialogue, proactive outreach, and a willingness to address challenges that we forge pathways to positive change and advancement in our careers. Let our stories be a testament to the transformative impact of using our voices. Remember, a closed mouth may lead to missed opportunities, but an open voice holds the key to shaping our destinies and fostering a culture of respect and growth. Don't let opportunities pass by unnoticed by raising your voice, reaching out, and seeking solutions, you pave the way for new pathways to success. In a world teeming with possibilities, it's essential to advocate for yourself, express your aspirations, and actively seek avenues for growth. Let's embrace the power of speaking up, amplifying our voices, and opening doors to a brighter, more empowered future. #VoiceMatters #ProfessionalGrowth #EmpowermentInWorkplace #SpeakUpForChange #CareerEmpowerment
